If by "work your arse off" you mean "act innocent yet seductive until said crush asks you out" then yes. Yes I have.
-_- Lucky bastard. I've never had it nearly that easy, though the only occassion where I can say I was at all diligent in pursuing a crush was when I was 15 being the stereotypical 'nice guy', the shoulder to cry on and all that. Natrually, this went to shit and she started going out with an obnoxious asshole (no really, I hated him long before she went out with him). So rather than do the sitcom thing, which is get all jealous, obssessive and vindictive until she hated me, I just grit my teeth and smiled through it all even trying to fool myself into thinking I was happy for her. Over the next couple of years, my interest in her faded, we didn't really talk too much or have the same connection and we just kind of drifted apart. Oh well, back to the drawing board and all that. Although, currently I really ought to work on seeing someone as I haven't in over year and need something to take my mind off the crush I have on my straight male friend. Long story short, I'm an idiot. /TMI rant over.
I only put the good story up. I've been through my share of missed opportunities, unfortunate circumstances and straight guys before I found the guy I could give an erection just by eating an ice cream and suckered him into being my boyfriend. :)

It always takes trial and error. In short... you'll find somebody. I'm sure of it. *hug*

Yep, I did.

Dated for 4 years, lived together for 2. It didn't work out, and now we're best friends.

Never even had a girlfriend.

Which feels strange. For I have no real difficulties talking to women. I've been told I'm cute (which always comes unexpected), and that I am a very likable person. I am very warm and open in one-to-one conversations. But I also know my limits and don't let myself be controlled.

Maybe I've just been terribly unfortunate so far. I don't meet a lot of women in my daily life, and when I do nothing ever comes out of it. Even when something could potentially happen (thinking back to high school there was someone I worked very well with, haven't really talked to her since then), they have some personality attribute which completely makes me uninterested (most commonly that they are alcohol enthusiasts or uncomfortably social and outgoing, which seems to be the grand majority).

Hopefully that will change, for I've found a place now with a significant amount of cute attractive geeky females. Never thought such a place existed. If I'm very very lucky, I might get to lovingly hold a girl in my arms someday soon.

I just registered an account to say that I did read every single post of this thread until now. I didn't skip or scan anything, I read every single one of your stories carefully and every one of them had something truly beautiful in it. I don't know if I'll share my own (it's probably not interesting, anyway) but I'd like to thank those who did, because every story here sparks a unique blend of emotions inside the reader - and all of them together cause a bittersweet feeling.

So, hi everyone! (And back to my ZP marathon for a while.)

Nope, I never managed to "got" the guy, and every attempt failed fantastically.

I will say one attempt, I was talking to this guy I've had a huge crush on for years and I decided to tell him. Before I could start the little discussion he told me, all very excited mind you, that the GF that he's been quiet about for years is his now fiancee. Apparently they were quiet about it because some mutual friends didn't like it, I'm giving the very short story since it's all rather messy and complicated, so I never said a word and lied about what I was gonna say.

So, yeah, no.

Yep, I got the girl. It was really just a matter of building the courage to actually do something about it. And it ended badly, so sorry, not a happy story.

Now, see, I have a problem with that... while we probably appreciate the sentiment (well, I do), where's your story?! =P (granted, mine wasn't much of a story... though I could make it one, depressing though it is, as I've mentioned more than enough times *sigh*)

Still, willkommen etc. etc. and are you ZP thonning for the plethora of badges that'll clog up your inbox tommorrow? (I only ask, because I'm pretty much doing the same thing!)

Oh, not at all. I had already reached the July 2010 reviews before registering. I wasn't even planning to register until I posted in this thread.

As for my story, I don't feel much like sharing right now, but giving at least a short response only seems fair. Well, in short I've really loved two women in my life. The first never shared my feelings. The second was unsure at first, but after a while she decided that she did, and we've been together for a year.

Fair enough, though I'd recommend quite a few of the other video series (XC, Unskip & MoS are the other ones I follow), though admittedly, ZP was the one that got me in here.

Anyway, just noticed how (in a sense) apt your avi/username combination is...

I've always ended up with the object of my affections... that's generally how dating and relationships work. Isn't it? I'm confused.
Ugly people fail to get the girl all the time. I think that's really what divides success and failure.
Also, this thread should have been a poll.
