Have you ever had a friend borrow a game and was completely careless?

So I let my friend borrow Saints Row 2 about three weeks after I bought it brand, spanking new and he decided to be nice and let me borrow some shitty Civil War game I beat in a few days. He keeps the game for about three months and worse yet he doesn't take care of any of his stuff. His controllers are all missing parts because he gets angry and throws his controller, swears at the video game and gets nearly violent, and he doesn't even have XBOX Live. The worst of all crimes is he keeps all his game in a stack. He takes the discs out of the box and stacks them and keeps them on his floor.

I feel I cannot loan him things anymore because the games does not even start. It is so scratched my XBOX thinks its some kind of strange disc and tells me to insert it into an XBOX. Has anyone ever had this happen to them. (As in careless friends not taking care of your belongings.)

Also beware I was not aware of his violent outbursts because I had never played games with him before as he just purchased the 360 at the time and never owned a console.

I hate people who treat technology like this... I don't even let my brother in my room for fear of him destroying everything in it...<.<

Yup. I have friends who just treat their games like shit.

I, on the other hand, keep my games in tip-top condition!

I never finished the first Spyro game because I was stuck on the last boss, so let my friend borrow it while I occupied myself with Crash Bandicoot.
Got it back and the disc looked fine, but no matter what we tried it wouldn't work again.

Can't exactly be angry at her for it though. We were 6 or 7, not exactly the most careful of ages.
Besides, I liked Crash Bandicoot more.

Yes, I killed him. That is the only correct course of action in such a situation, it doesn't matter how you do it as long as you kill him.

A friend of mine scratched my Starcraft CD a few years ago. But in his defense, I'd loaned him literally hundreds of games and DVD's, and that was the first time something bad happened. Besides, I've since not only bought the game again, but also got it as an extra in the SCII collector's edition.

well, in my experience, there seems to be an unwritten rule that anything in form of a disc borrowed to a friend does not come back. Lost about a third of my music collection to it.

i let my friend borrow my Saints Row 2 and when i got it back it had shit all over the front part (not the part that the laser reads, but the artwork) it was like he put stickers on it, rubbed dirt all over the part that remained sticky... it was nearly impossible to get off and i was afraid i was gonna snap my disc when i was scrubbing it.

Must... resist...

OT: A few times. But that was when we were very little, we take better care of games now.

I've had terrible luck with my Final Fantasy games. Younger brother erased the save file to both VII and IX (come to think of it he erased a Star Ocean: The Second Story save too) and had a friend do... something to the case of IX that broke the plastic inside that holds the disc in place. Also, said friend broke the plastic/ball bearing thing of the Playstation that holds the disc in place.

My friend keeps his discs in stacks too, says they don't get damaged... I'm a bit more skeptical, so I stick with using the boxes...
Although he's a good friend, and takes good care of my games when he borrows them.
So yeah.

Thats why I cease to let people borrow my stuff. Its amazing how I can keep a PS1 in pristine condition, yet my cousins/friends can't keep an iPod for two weeks without it breaking.

Yes, my friend borrowed civ 5 from me because he wanted to try before he bought it, he scratched the CD so I made him buy me a new copy.

My first copy of Fallout 3 was scratched to hell by my brother who actually left it on the floor.

The Floor, Disc art side facing up.

When it didn't work, I went apeshit. I have to monitor constantly now when he plays my games.

it was cool, I admit it, but my heart will always be with JJR2, mostly because it was the first game that was actually mine

that I paid with my own money
