Have you ever played sequels before their predecessors?

i think i may have completely given up on playing sequels after the game they are following. i'm just like, a good game? i'll buy it! unless its a very story continuity heavy series like MGS.

Assassin's Creed 2 (tried the first one for maybe 5 minutes at a friend's)

Fallout 3 (never played first 2)

God of War 3 (didn't like it, and never played the first 2)

CoD MW2 (first Cod for me)

FFVII, but I did eventually go back and play the SNES games at least

Hmm... I'm sure there's more but nothing - wait - Bad Company 2! I did play BF1942 a lot but never BC1 or any other Battlefield.

I think that's it.

HALO: 3 before 2 (played 1)

Cod: 4 before 1+2+3 (they were before my time..)

Final fantasy XIII, never played any others..

Played Persona 3/4 before playing Persona 1 and found Persona 1 to be a pile of ass with an ok story.

Played Wild arms 3 before 1/2 and it was a nice evolution of the 2 games while adding some great things of it's own.

I played Majora's Mask before Ocarina of Time on the N64. The reason being that I actually inherited my N64 off a friend for free and so previously I'd seen him playing Majora's Mask and to OoT so naturally I picked up and played the game that was a) more familiar and b) had a saved game that was half way through.
