I'll just build one out of discarded copies of DNF.ZombieGenesis said:Cool, then you can buy me a condo.ShockValue said:I honestly don't care how bad or good it is. I'll be getting it no matter what. Not like I'm strapped for cash or anything so whatever.
In the long run, I think everyone can agree it would be a better investment.
It shall be the manliest yet least appealing condo in the world!ShockValue said:I'll just build one out of discarded copies of DNF.ZombieGenesis said:Cool, then you can buy me a condo.ShockValue said:I honestly don't care how bad or good it is. I've got to say the Gearbox's "Borderlands" did the same thing and it drove me nuts. Who the hell thought that no one would get annoyed by the same grunt noise every time you jump or land? Plus I was constantly falling asleep playing the game solo because of the background music.ZombieGenesis said:Duke 'GURUNT's every time you jump in exactly the same way, to the point of it getting on your nerves.
It is essentially the opposite of that xDIrridium said:Really? Wow, this really makes me sad. I was hoping for a return of shooters past. Where you had a large health bar, could take craploads of hits, could carry craploads of weapons, and sprint at 60 miles an hour.
Heh. Had to search to see the busts you were referring to >.> That would be even worse than just the copies. Unless someone wants to have a bunch of Dukes staring at them.ZombieGenesis said:It shall be the manliest yet least appealing condo in the world!ShockValue said:I'll just build one out of discarded copies of DNF.ZombieGenesis said:Cool, then you can buy me a condo.ShockValue said:I honestly don't care how bad or good it is. Or just the busts from the Balls of Steel edition.
Since they only had the game 18 months or so, probably worse than that.Durananrananrananran said:Am I alone in seeing this, not as a game that has had a 14 year development period, but as a game that has had a standard 2-3 year development period, using the brand of a project that actually died some time around 2002?
Just saying...
I agree with you sir. I finished the demo this morning and was very disappointed by the look and feel of the game. Youd think after so much time being put into it there'd be more to it.ZombieGenesis said:I don't mean it to sound harsh, but really, when this demo goes open people are going to be massively dissapointed. Duke dies faster than just about any FPS character, you're limited to just two weapons, everything in the demo is brown... and it uses Half Life 2 meele. Seriously, you whack at something that doesn't respond or flinch in any way.
The humour is there, which is what I was relying on, but the context its presented in just doesn't hold up. Duke 'GURUNT's every time you jump in exactly the same way, to the point of it getting on your nerves, and I find myself frightfully reminded of that cliche list of "first person shooter tropes". You know the ones, regenerating health, faux cover system, crouch, limited weapons, tiny health, ineffective meele...
I'm sure there are plenty of people who WANTED Duke to be a straight faced Call of Duty style shooter using familiar elements to everything post-Gears. A majority of people who genuinly cared though would be hoping for something more nostalgic, colourful and... well, fun.
As a perfect demonstration, I suggest watching Zero Punctuations 'Bulletstorm' review again.
