On topic, I think it's a TERRIBLE idea. This is NOT Dante; there is NO trace of the lovable, John Mcclane-esque rogue that everyone in gaming loves. This is just like what happened with PoP and Bionic Commando. And also, WHY the hell did CAPCOM reboot the thing despite the fact that the series was still high-selling and critically well-received?
ReBOOT let's get it right. A remake is remaking game. A reboot is where you change the game dramatically in order to get it's fanbase up as it hasn't been great. You know, what Sonic's been doing for the past 10 years. But a more serious example would be Prince of Persia (2008) and Medal of Honour (2010).AugustFall said:Eugh, jesus. It's a remake,
Well the trailer was pretty colourful.Spot1990 said:All the brown.Woodsey said:That still looks like a very Japenese-y design, just not the same one as before. Not really sure what the western influence is supposed to be.
yep. couldn't have said it any better.Iwata said:Devil May Cry: Tokyo Hotel Edition.
Make a note of that fact that near the forty-second mark, the video briefly flashes to an image of the traditional white-haired Dante. Now, given that the subject was being psychologically tortured, forced to tell the camera his name, and was carrying a sword that definitely isn't Rebellion, there stands a chance that he's the usual Western-style brainwashed supersoldier made to think he's Dante; and assuming Ninja Theory is holding on to their usual writing style, this totally makes sense, even more so when you remember that Dante wasn't the 'proper' main character in DMC4. Smart money says it's those corporate guys from #2.Scrumpmonkey said:Look at the video above. LOOK AT IT!HT_Black said:Huh. I think it seems fake, actually. It's either done by someone on the internet looking for a good troll, or else it's a (bad) joke from the devs. Until it's confirmed, I'm just going to say it's Dante's new sidekick, Billy Joe Armstrong.
...And here I was thinking that a 'western' influence would be a good thing.
The horror... the horror...
