High-Powered Crossbow, Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle, or a Sci-Fi Sniper?

I would assume most of the gamers here in the Escapist at least played a single FPS / TPS game. The very first time you get your hands-on on the game's version of a sniper, contentment ensues every time you get a single-hit headshot kill.

Now I ask you, which version of a game's sniper gave you the most wonderful pleasure of power and silent kills? Give the reason why as well as which game it came from?

As for me, I loved Bioshock's Crossbow. Reasons are as follows:
- Enough kick to kill any non-Big Daddy enemy with 2 body shots in the hardest difficulty
- An upgrade makes bolts tougher so as to retrieve unbroken bolts to use them once again against other victims
- 3 types of different ammo: Steel-bolt, Incendiary-bolt, Trap-bolt
- Looks so gosh-darn cool when fully upgraded.

Fallout 3's sniper rifle was very satisfying. Especially the time i was infiltrating a raider base in the dead of night, picking off sentries and splattering their heads with that satisfying noise.

Edit: and the gauss rifle. aaaawwwww yeeeaaaaaaah

The crossbow from Killing Floor. Because it's so fun to shoot a bloat in the head and watch it explode ><

Semi-Automatic. Just gotta love those. Those sci-fi guns just looks like they were on a show called "Your Gun Just Got Pimped!". The cross-bows are nice, but they're not as powerful or destructive as a good old sniper rifle.

OP: For mentioning the crossbow from Bioshock, you have gained my respect. I love that crossbow, especially when I have the chameloen tonic. Speaking of which, have you seen how big those bolts are when you get a headshot on a splicer?

I like the crossbow in HL2, mainly because it can stick people to walls.

But, for a weapon that actually has decent amounts of ammo, I would have to say the M95 from Battlefield: Bad Company. It looks cool, has a nice kick, and generally is fun to use.

I love the Precision Rifle from Crysis on PC. The sound it makes is music to my ears, and it just looks so damn cool :D

Also the Springfield M1903 in any game (but mainly DoD: Source and CoD:W@W) is just so satisfying to use, as well as having a totally classic look.

I prefer the bolt action rifles over semi-auto.

One shot, one kill.

Pretty much. Those are some fat bolts. Must be painful if they were not killed in 1 hit :D

The M4OA3 from COD4, mmmm, can't get much better than that for me
But I loved no scoping with the sniper rifle in Red Faction: Guerilla, it was the same accuracy no matter how scoped you were, and headshots were easy as pie, is pie is very very easy
I was using it as a freakin' shotgun at one stage, it looks just freakin' cool...
