I actually expect the game to be good. From what I see, it looks polished with a fun setting. I do want to play it. However, I can definitely wait until it drops in price. Why? Well, no matter how good it is, it will probably ring of Call of Duty. Modern day military shooter, with all the details that we have come to expect of that genre. I'm sure Homefront will add its own elements to make it fun and unique, deserving the title of something more then, "Clone", but still, I have the recent Call of Duty's and Battlefield. Even if Homefront is better then both, it's still treading some similar ground. The campaign will likely be short, because a game like that requires a constant string of detailed set pieces, and the tropes will probably be familiar. I'm sure that I will enjoy the campaign, but that's still a lot of money for an inevitably short campaign. Games of this genre generally are strongest in the multiplayer arena, and in addition to already needing to play more Black Ops and Battlefield: BC2, I am interested in Crysis 2, that will add another COD-like multiplayer. The CoD style multiplayer is great, the popularity of it if anything should be an indication of its strength. However, no matter how much you love Chinese food, having it for breakfast, lunch and dinner will get on your nerves. I have other COD-like formats for multiplayer, and Crysis 2 multiplayer will be enough for oversaturation to begin with (I mainly want Crysis 2 for the single player). That will make Homefront multiplayer completely redundant, and it wouuld not be realistic of me to expect Homefront single player to be strong enough, in a sea of games with similar tone, , to justify the starting price. Let it come down in price, and Ill enjoy it.
