Codeine. Either that, or I just do something that requires me to think a lot, like timed Sudoku games.

It is just a case of letting the adrenaline take over, IE: having a knife stuck in my arm late last year it felt more like a burning across the entire area than actual pain, I looked at it, looked at the person who put it in me, looked back at it, then pulled it out, apparently the look on my face was enough to convince him to leave...

As soon as he was off and down the street, I proceeded to swear profusely, writhe in pain a little bit then headed off to my desk, where I keep (no joke) a medikit, sterilised the wound and taped/bandaged it up

That knife now resides on my desk, a little reminder of what people can do when you accidentally sleep with their girlfriends...

One thing worth noting is, for me, big injuries, (punches, kicks, knives, elbows and skateboards to the face) have less of a pain oriented effect on me than stubbing my toe or biting my tongue, THOSE injuries have me running around my house screaming "Orrthuckthukthurcktharrtfuthinghurtslikeshit!" Do you guys find that? or is it that I am a natural victim to clumsiness, yet a stalwart survivor of physical attacks?

Unless it's really bad, usually I can just push it into the back of my head until I can get to a position where I can take a pain reliever or something

Pain makes me laugh. Or wince, depending on the situation. The dull pain like getting punched or breaking bones makes me laugh for some reason, and it laughing seems to help me deal with it. On the other hand, stuff like needles make me wince. Oh, and unexpected sharp pain (like getting poked in the eye in a dark room, that sort of thing) enrages me. Again, not really sure why...
So I really don't ignore pain. I just deal with it in various ways.

I just take it. I've gone through enough (not in the emotional sense, in the actual physical, "ow that freakin' hurts" sense.) to just ignore and accept it.

So, I guess my advice is just, go through enough pain and you get used to it.

Like people have said, it depends. I freely admit to being a masochist, and enjoying certain types of pain. When I got my tattoo done, I was on cloud nine because of the needles in my skin.

Things like migraines, I medicate the hell out of myself with ibuprofen and caffeine. Cuts and bruises, I ignore. Major pain (like when I sprained my knee), I whine and sniffle like a four-year-old.

Believe it or not, if I have some sort of internal pain, I just inflict some external pain to distract. If you have a charlie horse, beat your leg with a ruler. (I want that on my tombstone). Oh yeah, & watching comedy, prefurably of the stand-up variety. Laughing releases endorphins in the body & distracts the mind. There's also hot & cold treatments for external pain that humb the sensation. & if it's in your mouth, use Tanic.

Getting older, I have learned that it often pays to listen to your body saying "ouch". Often pain comes before something goes really horribly wrong...I try to catch it before it becomes permanent.

I have pain meds, but that's because of my condition.

I'm used to it, because I'm always in pain.

Pain... I hate pain, especially when its chronic and there is nothing you can do to reduce it short of analgesics. Anyway, if I have to, I will embrace the pain and then get on with life (kind of a grin and bear it attitude.)

The best method for me is to do something about it, usually by distracting myself mentally. Dealing with pain depends on the type of pain being experienced, pain is your bodies' way of telling you there is danger.

What is this 'pain' you speak of? I focus on nothing but the sybaritic consummation of my basest needs, and pain is not one of them.
Hypothetical: You're shot in the knee. Will you still try to act like an internet badass?

OT: Depends, if I have a sunburn(which I currently do) I just man up. But I won't ignore the pain if I was punched in the face.

I just eat regular pain (like being punched, kicked, etc). However if it's chronic pain then I let my mind wander to thoughts of destruction and death, then I can imagine that the destruction and death around me is what's causing the constant pain. That or ignore it, I've become very good at doing that.

I usually just continue as normal. If it's in my legs (which it usually is, yay having bad knees at 19) and if it's bad enough I'll limp a bit, but other than that unless it's really bad it's usually impossible to tell that I'm feeling pain. Then again, that's just random pain. If I actually hurt myself, I generally curse a lot, and maybe take some ibuprofen.
