I'm ex-RAF so never saw true front line fighting of the sort that the Infantry, Paras and Royal Marines not to mention other Nato forces and The US are currently engaged in in various areas of the globe. They are well trained, disciplined and motivated. War as we all know isn't a game and it is refreshing to see that most of the people who have posted have not been stupidly gung-ho in attitude. Warfare is nerve-wracking, frightening and you do the best you can with what you have available. Kudos to the guys and girls out there right now. Personally, I'd be bloody useless. I can shoot but my main job was fixing aircraft so other people could go do the fighting.

They would never take me, genetic anomally means I have a pretty crippling potassium deficiency that crops up when I do too muh strenuous excersise and basically paralyses me for several hours. If they find a cure before sending me to the front, provided I got some training I could probably do alright.

Edit: Although Honestly I would rather not fight in a war if at all possible.

Very well actually. I'm not afraid of fights and I'm certainly not afraid of death. I'd still probably die, I don't have much experience with weapons.

I'd follow my training and follow my orders like you're supposed to do. That way, both me and my squad win as best as we can. I think if I did that then I'd do pretty well in a combat scenario.

Letwring tyrant? I think CAPTCHA may be a little right wing.

i would sit somewhere wayyyyyy behind the frontline. I would be part of the support personnel wich is a significant portion of any army.

At worst, artillery trooper. Less exposed, biggest guns.

my stamina is shit so I think I would most likely die.
or take note where the gunfire is coming from and run in the opposite direction.

I don't think anyone can really know until they are there. War changes people.
Thread ends here.

You could go on a blood-thirsty rampage and suicide at the end or freeze up. No one knows. I certainly don't want to know.
It's not outside the realms of reasonability to have a guess at yourself, although when you want to share that with others is something else entirely.

I remember going to paintball, which was amazingly fun and, despite not being fit or physically well formed, I did pretty well in. That said, I did get shot a lot and after the 6 hours or so, the number of welts on my body implied that if I'd been hit by bullets I'd be very, very dead.

So yeah...I'd die. I'm much more of the "sit in the tent and tell people where to run" sort of war guy.

I think I would cry like a girl and piss my pants in a real firefight. Not sure what would happen next though, I'd like to think I would man up and do what I could to survive and help my buddies survive, but I guess no-one ever knows until they're in that situation.

I would be like "O Shit" Then I would do what my training would have taught me. And then I would probably step on a mine with my luck.

I would probably start running the other way once I realized that I was in a real fight with real guns.

I would probably find myself a nice high building, litter the lower levels with claymores and just pray no one finds me..

When you say 'How would you go?' do you mean;

1): How would you die?
2): How would you fight?

Answers:

1): Horribly...
2): Probably go around thinking I was awesome but actually sucking.

Honestly I reckon I'd be alright. I'm in fairly good shape, I don't panic when under stress, and at close range I have pretty damn good aim. Added to that I can move around incredibly quietly. Not sure how I'd fare at longer range combat though, and I wouldn't be much use if I had to carry massive amounts of equipment.
