I am frustrated by gamers who fall for the mainstream bullshit that passes for quality; they have fallen for the millions spent on pretty ads and propaganda, millions that were stripped from development costs. I am angry at the stupidity of such a wide swathe of people. There are better ways to spend your precious time here on this earth than playing another fucking final fantasy.
... So playing OTHER videogames ARENT a waste of time then?...
Um... I am sorry, but the reality is that it dosnt matters if you play COD or Angry Birds or Mario, they are ALL a "waste of time"...
Untrue, if you've played one COD you've played them all. If you've played one borderlands, you've played them all. A sequel is only worth playing if it adds something significant to the experience. Demon's souls -> dark souls is a good example, the successor is worth playing because it has created a significant experience that the original cant replicate.
If you're satisfied with same old shit, just more of it, well you are part of the problem, its called stagnation.
I guess I am part of the problem then, because I see absolutly no logic AT ALL in what you are saying.
So, if theres a sequel of a game I loved, And its admitidly "More of the same", then I shouldt buy it at all? I dont get it... If it IS really "More of the same", then it means I will love the game, just like the original.
Why fix what aitn broken? Oh wait. If you DO innovate then people will complain. If you dont, people will complain. The company just cant win.
I personally I am in for both form of sequels. If it is the same, then fine, I will most likely like the game as much as I liked the first (maybe even more, or less, that irrelevant thougt). If it innovates, well, I am looking forward to it as well.
Also, COD and Borderlands, despiste what they look, the sequels are quite different, just not in the outside. But for people who actually PLAY them, theres quite a few differences. Hell, theres plenty of people who hate an SPECIFIC game in the COD series, and prefer other COD games, if they are really the same game, why would they do that?
In COD case, theres different maps, perks, killstreaks, and stuff that someone whos blindly hating on the series just wouldt apreciate (Not saying you are, but theres people like that).
In Borderlands case... well, I havent got to play BL2 yet, but from the sound of it, theres quite a lof of new stuff in there too. Plus, new clases as well. Again, not worth saying it to someone who hasnt played the games, you NEED to play them to judge if the sequels are really that samey.
Again, opinions. This is all my opinion. And I belive the whole "stagnation" problem is just BS. If it is really true, I am proudly part of it because I dont have anything aganist sequels. Note that I dont have anything aganist innovative gameseaither . I like them both! just WHY cant we have both and be happy with it?
