Out and out gore (i.e. beheading, blood flying everywhere) I don't mind, but as soon as I start just thinking about veins, it makes me squirm. My friend's descriptions of events in the SAW films make me feel a little queasy too.

I must say I greatly dislike films that have gore for gore's sake (and no, I'm not talking about An Inconvenient Truth), like SAW and Hostel and whatnot. I just question what they're trying to achieve.

You can never have enough gore.

Honestly, the only part of a film that's bothered me, was house of Wax (Or whacks. Whatever, you'll know what I mean) where they cut that guys Achilles tendon. Also when that woman cuts that guys balls off with a pair of secateurs in Hostile 2.

I can handle most gore, not that I appreciate it. It comes to a point where all it is is just limbs flying, which isn't really the point in any of those things.

Thanks to the internet, I'm pretty much desensitized to that kind of stuff, but I can't help but jeer away sometimes on Saw 3 when they cut into his skull. However its not going to make me break down.
I am completely desensitized just like you and just like you I only occasionally cringe in things like Saw 3. Though I'm not complaining, ever watch Saw with a girl whose scared of anything gory or "scary?" It's awesome.

I can handle almost anything. I squirmed when the puss ran down the chick's face in Hostel but that's the only 'gore' that has ever made me squirm. I am desensitized to simulated violence, that's for sure. IRL, however, is a different story.

Well, the voices? The ones saying 'uppercut him above his abdomen and procede to rip out his jugular'? Because I can take a high level of gore; so long as it isnt smell-o-vision.

Wow, strange I've just started watching Higurashi today.

I don't mind gore and stuff so long as I know it's fake. Real gore is a bit of a different matter though. If I saw somebody getting decapitated in real life I think I'd probably have a nervous breakdown.

Video games, i can handle any.
Movies i have a limit at excessive (one person has a hose in there body for example)
Books, any, its all the same.
On me, heaps. I have been covered in my own blood many times, due to injuries. (it was spread out, so its not anything near blood loss levels.)
In my own head, or when it is described to me from people i actually listen to. I actually start to fade out of consciousness.

Weird how that works. Psychological i guess.

M'eh I grew up watching gory movies and playing extremely violent video games so I guess I'm desensitised to it... I'm also a danger to you and every one else because I play violent video games and according to Jack Thompson that makes me a serial killer.

The only kind of gore I can't handle is real gore, watching real people die completely repulses me. Other than that I'm fine with anything up to and including August Underground.

The more gore the better. Bring it on. I'm not desensitized, I just love it, because I'm a sick, sick bastard.

Let me put it this way, when my friends were wincing at the sight of some guy getting torn apart, bit by bit, vital organs spilling out, I was laughing.
And this was real life.

You can always fit more dismembered body part, blood and violence onto a screen.

I want more.

I think maybe the internet has de-senceitisetd me to such things :S

I can stomach any amount of gore from playing games like gears of war and fallout 3 and watching movies like seed and tokyo gore police(the most ridiculous film ever)

So far the only thing that have even affected me slightly is "120 Days of Sodomy". Left me with a feeling of unease. So I can handle pretty much anything.

As long as we're not talking horror motion picture movies (with the exception of Event Horizon and maybe even Dreamcatcher) I can handle anything a videogame or an animated TV series throws at me.
