My grandfather's a racist bastard.
He seriously thinks that pretty much every black guy on the planet is either a tribal warrior, a gangster, or a terrorist (in Mr. Obama's case). And pretty every black woman on the planet is either a tribal woman or a hooker or a really good hooker (in Mrs. Obama's case).
He also thinks that all women with even the slightest Hispanic/Latino lineage are illegal immigrants (if they're in the US) and will end up fat and ugly when they're older, and that all men with even the slightest Hispanic\Latino lineage are illegal immigrants and are lazy retards because they obviously couldn't make it in their original country.
My uncle is homophobic to a serious degree. Not as bad as the OP, but still pretty bad. He lumps gays in with atheists and theists-who-don't-have-the-exact-same-beliefs-as-him, and thinks that nothing any of them say can be believed, and is probably an outright lie. That sucks because, you know, I'm an atheist, and have a good friend who happens to be gay.
Fortunately, I grew up with my dad, mostly, who is very open-minded and tolerant of other people. Hm, and for some strange reason, the people on my mom's side of the family (except my mom) hate my dad. They literally think he deliberately deprives me of food and supplies and lets me go anywhere I want (he does, as long as I'm home by 9:00) because he just doesn't care about me (he makes me get back by 9:00 (unless I warn him beforehand and give him a time), so he obviously cares at least a little bit, or maybe he just trusts me to keep myself alive on my own, something everyone else doesn't seem to understand. And they hate him because he never brought me to church and turned me into an atheist. Strange, he never said anything about my religious beliefs, just told me that I shouldn't trust everything I hear/read, and to critically observe the things around me, which seem like benefits instead of heathenism.
Wait, this has gone and turned into a rant. Sorry.
