The link above should give ample reason why I think the wii did not live up to its full potential.

Thanks for checking it out.....

4 i agree completly I you see a copy of RE4 and you don't own one buy it as soon as possible so that there may be a chance that RE5 will be comming to the wii
Well, it's really too late to buy RE4 for Capcom to even notice, and the game already did pretty well considering that it was just a port of a prev-gen game. 1.4 millon copies of a game a lot of people probably already bought a couple of years earlier proves that there are fans willing to buy the game.

I wouldn't want a downgrade of RE5, though. Just look at how Capcom are messing up the Wii version of Dead Rising. It's better if they make RE6 or a Code Veronica-type game (with RE4-like controls) Wii-exclusive.

I would simply hit it with the classic, big heavy and blunt object until it worked good. Simplistic, cliched and so right. If you break it totally, you did something wrong.

are you a dumb ass????????

raid "0" is going to be the shit on home condcels cause we all know that raid "1" is not worth it since it just copys both HD you would have considerably smaller storage capasity with more HD's msking the new system quite large for the sub par perfomance/size

Raid "0" has the space and speed people want, not just speed.
raid "0" with the new system would double the data bandwith from the cpu to the HD since it has two indepentint HD' controlers, thus making "installed games" load twice as fast or as fast as an single HD on a 64bit computer loads.

yes I am very serious because unlike the ps3's cell chip RAID is quite simple and cheep compared to nano prossecors. Plus the cell chip really can't do much with with one HD.
And when one of those drives fails?

Then what?
You get new HD's and put something like "steam cloud" on the next nintendo system.

lol RE6 will defiantly not be on the wii, it has to be RE5 or none of the mainstream titles.
While I am cool with a code veronica game I don't see them working on one.
I hope that HOD4 is on the wii cause they ave said many time that it was going to be if people bought their games.

Capcom is trying to port the game to wii, not bulding it from the bottom and that is why it looks like %^&%

In Raid 0, the zero stands for how many files you are going to get back if something goes wrong.

The best way to fix a Wii would be to release a Sam & Max game on it!

Oh, wait....

EDIT to add something not stupid to the debate:
The Wii isn't broken, so why fix it? Just because it has a large number of "casual" games (not all of which are bad by the way, many of them fit their purpose just fine) doesn't mean classics like Mario Galaxy and Smooth Moves don't exist! The Wii caters for all audiences, which is why it is so successful.

Maybe I should rephrase this:
How about a NEW shooter of the same calibur as Gears of War and Resistance?
I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this but...
the conduit? I think it looks good, but then again, you can't really tell how good a game is until you play it.

I'd personally grab one if it was not region locked, so that's the showstopper. I do understand that not a whole lot of people would care about that. But on the PS2, I learned that European versions of all games were 1) late, often as much as half a year, 2) far inferior technically, and in many cases, 3) never came out at all. Had to put in a modchip just to play games at full quality. That is not something I'm looking forward to doing ever again. I'll rather leave the console be in the first place.

Having an easy-to-use network service is common sense. There's every reason to move to a normal XBL-like account system.

Wii's price, equivalent to 360 Premium and waaay above 360 Arcade, remains somewhat ridiculous.

Well, it is possible to make the Wii region free by exploiting a bug in Twilight Princess, and all you need is an SD-card. But that's as much as I'll say here.

I leave competition to sort out quality.
Eloquent.
No idea if that was sarcastic or not, it's 5:10 AM and I can't sleep cause a Delivery is coming around nine.

so all sarcasm nerve endings have shut down, I really need clarification here.
No no, I wasn't being sarcastic. I do think it's eloquently expressed. I'd quote that.

Don't be so defensive. :)

Exactly what I was going to say.

The only thing I would change is dropping the price on The balance board.

See now that just makes me nervous and more confused.

I said that because the games I buy aren't shovel ware, so I don't care whats produced in the end, for any of the consoles, so long as they break even.

After all the end of a generation is allways declaring a winner through sales. Why would we see it any different? In the end people aren't going to be saying "Well the artistic design of Halo (Shut up i'm tired) combined with the immersive feel of Fable 2 gave the 360 the clear win (See I'm so tired I'm talking shit)" There going to be saying "The Wii Outsold everything else and turned the highest profit."
I understood what you wanted to say the first time with much less words - that's why it was so eloquent!

I have been randomly enjoying this thread upon its creation.

Currently there is only one thing wrong I find with the Wii: the motion plus gadget. They marketed that wrongly and I feel it needs better justice. Instead of going, "We released this thing you can tap to the back of your wiimote to aim better!" how about we see WiiMote V2? A Wiimote with the new technology already in it from the start, with marginal price difference. You don't release a controller then point out a flaw it may have to the crowd, then charge them extra to fix it. Nintendo mailed out that one new upgraded wrist band around the world for free, and I believe they mailed out sleeves for free as well (though I have yet to get mine.) While it may be too far of a leap to give out motion plus do-hickeys for free, it's not a large jump to simply resign the control and release a newer version of the controller.

The Wii, itself, as a system, is fine. There is nothing wrong with the games that Nintendo makes for its system, there is nothing wrong with the brand of people they make the games for. Since Nintendo is not in control of third party gamers, they should not have to be responsible for what they release provided it's under the proper rating rules. Crap gets released, there was plenty of gaming snot sneezed out towards popular systems in the past: PS2, snes, nes, Atari anyone? Terrible games will always and have always been released. The Wii, as a system, is not in fault of this and the bad games have nothing to directly do with how the Wii console operates.
