I didn't think it'd be this bad...

An ear infection a couple of years back. I actually cried from the pain. It was like somebody was chiselling away in there.

And I managed to get a piece of hardened potato-peel under my fingernail under my nail a few days ago whilst trying to dislodge it from the bottom of a saucepan. That was surprisingly painful, however mundane. The world is undoubtedly out to get me.

Get well soon =].

Umm when I was 9, a me and my friends were trying to get the hat off another of our friends (he was exceptionally tall). He was running in front of us, and I had the brilliant stroke of genius to get a 'footie' (getting my friend to give me a jump boost) when I was jumping for the hat- there was no way I wasn't getting the hat after that. He slipped on a manhole just as my foot was leaving his hand, and my face crashed against the pavement. My front two teeth are still out of shape, (after 6 years the orthodontist's waiting list is for another 3 years) and my front teeth went through my lower lip. I screamed at the top of my lungs for about half an hour, and the girls in the playground were screaming at the blood pouring for my mouth. Unbelievably painful, and I didn't let my friend forget for a year (he winces every time he remembers my teeth).

I broke one of my toes on a wall. I couldn't walk for a week without using a cane, and even then, my top speed was somewhere between "the movement of atoms in solid matter" and "glacial." It also turned a lovely shade of purple, and half my foot turned a light blue in color. And I don't think it healed right.

Although getting my wisdom teeth out was surprisingly pain free. Yay for painkillers! And ice cream.

I'm not exactly filled with optimism now OP, my wisdom teeth are coming through at the moment o_O
Tsk, mine too, but we don't pull wisdom teeth unless we have to. No complications on my side. I understand it's common to pull them regardless in America, is that true? If so, I'm really sorry for you.
Britain here actually :p. I don't know much about wisdom teeth, but most people I have asked have had theirs out =[. I guess I can hope mine will be fine.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled, and 8 hours later, went out to dinner to a Chinese restaurant. It was delicious.
I've also tried sparring against a UFC fighter [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wanderlei_Silva], who specializes in Muay Thai Clinch. He got into the clinch, and needless to say, it hurt quite a bit.

And getting something stuck in your eye hurts like a ***** sometimes. Something tiny can sure cause a lot of pain and distress.
Especially if it's a tiny piece of metal that got shaved off a roller coaster.

That eye's always been redder than the other since then.

I feel your pain, man. I've had a tooth pulled. I think the worst part was the novacaine. It does an effective job of making you numb, I suppose, but first it itches and burns and stings like a *****.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed, op took less than 30 minutes. Never even needed pain killers after it.

I did get my left hand smashed in a dump trailer though...paper thin too, but it surprisingly didn't break. It was strange-the amount of mental clarity that comes with an overload of nerve cells.

I had to change and use my right for writing, now I am ambidextrous.

Nothing personally but I once convinced a friend* to use Vicks Vapor rub as lubricant.

*Actual friend not hypothetical friend whom I frequently speak to my Doctor about.

I know everyone's tagging on the guy who jumped off a house and all, but I just wanna say-

At what point did fighting a guy who (from the 5 minute research I've done) seems to specialise in kneeing people in the face before stamping on their head seem like a good idea to you? I mean, props and everything, but really? How did "Hey, I want to fight this guy... without a weapon" form in your head under any other category than "shit I should never do".

Having said that, mine was a few weeks back, did a round-island walk of 48.1 miles. Apparently that pain I felt with about 10 miles left to go was my calf muscle tearing... I strapped it up and carried on walking. I was fine until I got to the line, went over to a medic, he took the strap off and tried to see what was wrong... Lactic acid held back by a strap + torn muscle + sunburnt legs = GETOFFMYFUCKINGLEGYOUSADISTICBASTARDITYOU'REKILLINGMEAHHHHHHHHH

I was drunk and had been playing Assassins Creed 2 moments before.

Lesson learnt: Alcohol does not make you awesome.
I don't know, that sounds pretty badass.

OT: Getting braces in 5th grade. It didn't hurt at first, so my mom and I ended up going to Taco Bell. I couldn't eat the freaking soft tacos, it hurt so much. Life proceeded to suck for a while. Then she started bringing me shakes and stuff at lunch. It got pretty sweet.
o god yes my first tightening was horrible ive nvr felt that much pain chewing!

Falling off a cliff hurt less than I expected, due to landing in snow, and not on the various rocks scattered around within about a foot of me.

Failing to breathe for long periods of time due to an asthma attack brought on by laughter? Quite painful.

I barely had any pain when I got my wisdom teeth removed. My sister did though, and quite a bit at that.

My advice is to make sure to keep those sockets clean and wait for it to go away. It'll get better.

OT: I didn't think getting a local anesthetic injection prior to mole removal surgery would be particularly painful. Man was I wrong. That stuff burns like acid for about two minutes until your nerves all go numb.
