I've gotten insulted by a number of people for the past few days because I told someone I buy all my music...does that make any sense at all? Sorry that I support those that work their asses of to make it so you have the music you like to listen to.

For discussion value, have you ever been insulted for something utterly retarded?
Oh no, not again! I've already seen a guy talking about this. Why don't those pirates go back to yelling "Yarrr!" and stuff? It's not wrong to pay for things. Don't be so smug just because you don't. Just calmly snicker into the night like everyone else.

Anyway, of course I have. By Justin Beiber fans.

I got insulted because the ipod I won for a dollar was pink. It was in a case, but you could see the pink button.

Yeah...
You too?

Also, I have had people sneer at me because I carry a student bag instead of a handbag, especially the fact that I don't own any kind of designer bag at all. Yes, so apparently I'm an idiot for not spending a thousand dollars on an inconvenient, fat, ugly looking bag with a bunch of G's stamped on it. Remind me why I always seem to have more money than you girls?
That's funny. A few weeks ago I was sneered at slightly by someone for saying that I LIKED Napoleon Dynomite. Opinions of the movie aside, I just find this hilarously ironic.

Can somebody explain to me why a lot of Americans hate Canadians? Does everybody over there have nationalism coming out of their ass? Also what's with calling Canadian "Mondays"? So far that's the strangest insult I've ever heard.
Interestingly enough, the only time I've ever heard "Monday" as an insult was from a bunch of racist Newfies referring to a group of black people. Their reasoning was that nobody likes Mondays.

More on topic, I've been insulted for not buying my underage brother alcohol. It sure as shit doesn't stop him from drinking, he gets it from someplace.

I've also been insulted for not drinking at a birthday party. My non-drinking was apparent enough to make people believe I was a well-controlled 20 year-old.

I got picked on one day by my roommates because I didn't want to get over my worst hangover ever by running a few miles in the midsummer super humid 100 degree charleston heat. I run, just not when I've been puking up beer, bourbon, and oyster shots all day.

I get insulted for being Canadian quite a bit. So I'm in a game of BC2 and everyone's getting along, then a guy asks me "So where you from?" I reply "Oh I'm from Canada man", the he responds with: "Wow your a fucking fagot Monday"... I'm more or less like "Monday? What? WAT?"

Can somebody explain to me why a lot of Americans hate Canadians? Does everybody over there have nationalism coming out of their ass? Also what's with calling Canadian "Mondays"? So far that's the strangest insult I've ever heard.
the problem is that a lot of Americans (myself excluded, I love Canada and if not for you I know I wouldn't have Kids in the hall and Bioware ((also today would have sucked for me because I wouldn't have spent the whole day reading the entirety of Scott Pilgrim)) and countless other things.) see you as the lamer version of us. Because they don't know anything about you. Plus you know you gave us...

How do artist even make money anymore? That music you're stealing is somebody else's intellectual property.
Artists frequently don't make money off their CDs in the first place. The recording industry is utterly harsh and terrible.

However, that's not eactly a new thing or piracy related. The notion that downloads are what's hurting an artist is ridiculous. That doesn't excuse piracy, but the industry's attempts to conflate multiple issues is inane. It's good PR, because "We treat our artists like shit" becomes "piracy is hurting our artists, and piracy is stealing!"

I get crap for buying my musicc, too. Remember, not paying anything is "smart," even if it's dishonest.

I was insulted for admitting to watching Toy Story last year. Who doesn't like Toy Story?
There is something deeply wrong with whoever made fun of you.

OT: I have been made fun of for actually watching Twilight to form an educated opinion on it. I still didn't like it, its boring and awkward.

The opinions of worthless people are worthless. So don't sweat insults by mouth-breathers and idjits.

And...

You can't please everyone all the time. If you did pirate all your tunes, some other guy would get on your case about that.

Stick to your principles, until logic and experience prove otherwise. Then, re-evaluate, adjust, and proceed.

I routinely get insulted because I skipped a grade and I'm smarter than almost everyone else in the school.

Also because I don't like South Park.

People insult me for never having seen the movie Avatar.

I'm sorry I just don't like the concept that they are taking the story from an all time classic such as Dances with Wolves.

I haven't been made fun of for buying music, mostly it's "Why the hell would you do that?" But I usually buy straight from the artist's personal website instead of buying from iTunes or on CD.

Also, as far as stupid things to be made fun of I got all kinds of comments about being the top of my class in school. People called me things like "smart kid" or "overachiever" like it was a bad thing or something.

America hates brains. Which is why we've gone from putting people on the moon to "Sarah Palin's Alaska."

I'm actually Canadian, but I know exactly what you mean. This is quite a redneck community I've got here

I get ridiculed daily for not playing Call of Duty religiously, for liking Final Fantasy, for watching anime, and much more. I'm not social.
I feel you man. I am constantly called a "no-life" and told I have no friends because I'm not that social. I have friends and they like me for me.

Concerts. Lots and lots of concerts. Plenty of people still buy albums though, and I do as well.

I got insulted for turning down an offered smoke!
I'm 15 and they were 14-16 years old, I just walked away in utter disgust when they called me a 'pussy'

It's 60% of my generation giving us current day 'teens' a bad name. So I get discriminated against for being a teenager!

Blargh! *vent over*

But, bagged for buying music? That's ludicrous!
