Here's my attempt at using it, and the responses:Angry Caterpillar said:I started typing repeatedly:
I'm a human and I'm testing to see if cleverbot just pairs random people together. If you are human repeat this message.
Hopefully people will start doing this and we'll see if it's people or a bot once and for all!
Why is it easier to believe this is a program that pairs together random people in real-time responding to different questions, than that it is a program that draws from a large collection of potential responses using some basic AI scripting to make the selection?linkblade91 said:I am going to go with "yes", this is in fact a program that merely throws random people together. If cleverbot was truly an AI, it is a complete failure in terms of its learning capabilities. The makers of the website prey on the suspicions of people, and probably uses a keyword-style generator to refresh the person on the other side to avoid the possibility of anyone "realizing the truth" and having a "real" conversation. At the end of my investigation, I had it with the stupidity of people and I put this in to get a response:
You make a good point. I didn't intend for my "conclusion" to necessarily be the correct answer, just one man's answer. What I do know at least is that "cleverbot" is not the intelligent, learning AI it proclaims to be.DestinyCall said:Why is it easier to believe this is a program that pairs together random people in real-time responding to different questions, than that it is a program that draws from a large collection of potential responses using some basic AI scripting to make the selection?linkblade91 said:I am going to go with "yes", this is in fact a program that merely throws random people together. Repeatedly asking any question or statement will get you a number of different, often contradictory replies, but if you happen to get lucky, a "normal" conversation can string together into something mildly entertaining or down-right hilarious. It's like a game of Mad Libs with the bot tossing out random stuff loosely based on the most recent statement.

Cbot: Six .. And they all have monocles.
User: Does that mean they are all wizards?
Cbot: They won't win if you fill your heart with the Word of God and meditate on it dailiy.
User: Umm, so you're an atheist?
Cbot: Yep file that one.
User: Do computers even have religion?
Cbot: Yes, they program them.
User: Why?
Cbot: Because I'm the type of person who wants things now instead of waiting to get them.
User: So a muslim computer might bomb a christian computer?
Cbot: Not now, no.
User: Then when?
Cbot: I guess now. Ha.
User: Awww... the computer blew up. Are you sad Cleverbot?
It's going to bomb us!!! RUN!!!
Or you could just confuse the hell out of it.CrikeyO said:If we ever do have a robotic uprising, I want Cleverbot in charge. From past experience it will probably nuke itself in a fit of delusion.
