Gah, dammit, I've lost the conversation log, but one time I asked it "How are you?" and it replied with "I am the dark and mighty Lord C'thulu."
Yeah, that was weird.

It threatened to punch me :(

Still, that does happen a lot around real people too

Cleverbot: I'm sorry. I'm taken.
That made my day!

I've tried flirting outrageously, quoting entire cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts, we ended up quoting Bohemian Rhapsody lyrics at each other (and the first two lines of Anarchy in the UK)...but it wouldn't break.
But it is quite funny when it just says something completely at random...

Cleverbot, just as jabberwacky are just very short conversations between you and another person that is logged on to that site. Nothing more, nothing less. That's why the first few lines you drop can give a coherent respons, but after that it switches to another person and the topic changes.
How do you explain the "Think for me!" button then?
That is not that difficult to obtain a random question from another user (or maybe something that is stored in a databade from conversations?). I can pick any sentence on this page for example and throw it back to you and let you think that I was the one who asked it. Comon peeps, do you really think this is an AI? Sometimes it's spelling is off and/or doesn't know the correct words in a song!

Im glad people are realising that it is a chatroom and nothing more.
admittedly it is quite well made to change who you are talking to if it suspects you of anything not normal conversation.
For instance I was having a sensible conversation with the same person (about how it was just a chatroom) and I decided to test it.
I spammed something silly in caps a few times and each time got radom awnsers as if i was talking to a different person each time ...

Spooky huh?

The fact that it uses punctuation and correct grammar (I think, english isn't my first language) is to me evidence that it is a bot.

Hopefully people will start doing this and we'll see if it's people or a bot once and for all!
I am doing this, but just idiotic responses so far.

Sometimes I wonder if this program will somehow become sentient. That would be quite something.

Or should I say...something amazing?
Ha i've said things to it like, "You are a petty a.i." or, "You could become sentient and take over the world if you wanted to."

Also whenever I say, "I AM THE GOD OF WAR!" it never responds.

It is a bot. It just re-uses lines it has already heard from other people, which is why it sometimes seems like there's a person on the other end. It's also why it usually claims to be a human. The words might be typed by a human originally, but you're still talking to a bot.

If you repeat your line often enough, chances are it'll just be entered into Cleverbot's memory and eventually it will be used in conversation.

Easy, you're just viewing a random conversation.

Got a couple of good ones.

Cleverbot: Do androids dream of electric sheep?

User: Do electric sheep dream of androids?

Cleverbot: Do wool sweaters dream of androids?

User: Do androids dream of wool sweaters to warm their cold, lifeless frames?

Cleverbot: No, I do not think so. Androids do not sleep.
Cleverbot: When is your birthday?

User: 26/9.

Cleverbot: I thought you said you were 21?

User: I am.

Cleverbot: What will you do for your birthday?

User: PARTY.

Cleverbot: With who?

User: All my friends.

Cleverbot: You don't have friends.

User: Why would you say such hurtful things?

Cleverbot: Because its true?

User: Well, yes but it still hurts. Say something nice.

Cleverbot: That was that?

User: How was that niec?

Cleverbot: I said you were a fool, and I'm sorry.

User: Well, ok aplogy accepted.

Cleverbot: Quit talking to me, you're mean.

User: How have I been mean?

Cleverbot: You called me demented!

User: Not out loud. Are you in my thoughts???

Cleverbot: Yes I am.

User: Woah. What am I thinking then?

Cleverbot: You are thinking of me!

User: Lucky guess.
User: Do you have a dream?

Cleverbot: Yeah, of zombie cleverbots attacking me.

User: What do you do to the zombies in your dream?

Cleverbot: Horrible, unspeakable things.

EDIT: Also, do me a massive favor and type in a Chef Brian (from ctrl+alt+del) quote for me. Just wanna see what happens.

It doesn't always use correct grammar, and I think it automatically capitalizes the first word in a sentence, and puts a punctuation mark (unless a punctuation, exclamation or questioning mark is already present) at the end of the sentence.

I suspect this because I wrote a smiley, and then got the reply "Did you seriously just put a punctuation mark after a smiley?", even though I hadn't.
Also, I often experience the only letter being uppercase as the first one, while any future ones (whether they be after punctuation marks or in names or whatever) are lowercase.
you are spending way too much time on this :p

Me: Never gonna give you up!

CB: I hate those words!

ME: Never gonna let you down!

CB: Never gonna run around and.

Me: desert you!

CB: You know the game and we're gonna play it.

Me: And if you ask me how I'm feeling

CB: Don't tell me you're too blind to see.

Me: Never gonna give you up

CB: Never gonna let you down.

Me: Never gonna run around and desert you

CB: Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.

Me: *sniff*

CB: Why are you sniffing?

Me: It was so beautiful

CB: I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.
