I love Canada. Quebec should separate. Then I'd love my country even more.
No, they shouldn't.

A. I'm in the Atlantic provinces. Who will keep us in a somewhat good economy?
B. I'm french. If Quebec separates, english will take over New-Brunswick.
C. Quebec ain't so bad. Sure, the separatists are a bit annoying, but that doesn't mean they're all jerks.

I'm not sure I love the US, it's a great county freedom and all but as the said is south park at least one fourth of Americans are retards and most of those retards are in the government. I wish I could go to my dad's home county, St. Croix, it's warm and there are beautiful beaches.

sure it's got a few problems, but I wuv it all the same.
You, sir, are a patriot. As am I.

OT: I love my country because it, until the past decade, actually was the greatest country in the world. I don't know what it is now, but it changed after Congress said they could invade our privacy.

What kind of country would any of us be living in if we were all fine with whatever the status quo of the time was? There are problems, there are always problems, and it's better to be dissatisfied with a pretty good country than apathetic about living in a shithole.

What really bothers me is what some people refer to as "their [insert country." This isn't "MY America," and nonsense like that. Your America, good sir or madam, (99.99% of the time) is a thankfully non-existent dictatorship.

Free health care bitches, Canada is the shit.

I love my state. I don't necessarily hate the others, but they seem like more frightening places to live. If it weren't for the Massachusetts healthcare system, I wouldn't be able to afford my meds and my mom would have lost her left foot, which would at least be better off than my best friends mother, who would have been dead months ago.

I can't comprehend how someone could ever hate their own country of origin...
Nationalism: love for ones country because of their place of origin. I prefer to love a country that actually has advantages and is the most livable in the world. For me Australia is definitely not it. I hate its pathetic government, backwards policies and popularist and alarmist culture of stupidy.

Im starting to see a common theme, it seems Australians aren't fans of Australia at the moment.
That's partly to do with one michael atkinson, and partly due the fact that we're australians. There is very little we take seriously (but when we do take something seriously, watch out) and for us patriotism is barracking for the national side at *insert sport here* and getting smashed on australia day and anzac day.
Well put.

I love the US. I just despise the Republican Party. Not conservatives in general. Just the Republican Party.

Are you kidding? I love my country. I don't care so much for the people running it though, and that's largely due to how they handle relations with OTHER countries.

I love America. It isn't perfect, but I find it to be overall a great place to live.

I, too, am unhappy with many politicians, like gof22 said, but my dislike is usually aimed at the Democratic Party.

That's right, I'm (gasp) a Republican. And a conservative one at that, although I have become more and more moderate over the years.

Honestly, these days, I'm kinda sick of both sides.
I would say I am a moderate democrat. Now I don't hate our country, but the people in congress on both sides need to get their head out of their asses and start getting shit done. It just seems like the republicans are just voting against the democrats just for the sake of doing it and the democrats are being stubborn and not even trying to appease the republicans at all. They are all just a bunch of asses in the senate. Stubborn asses!

AMERICA FUCK YEAHH!!!

I hate the tendencies of my country's people to engage in short-shighted, nationalistic jingoism. I love my country, which is why it saddens me so much to see it in the hands of a gang of twats.

Blame which media for what? "Media" acts as articulation. The only reason people buy into whatever people are saying is because it resonates with them on some level. If this "media" was broadcasting something that these people didn't want to see, they'd turn it off.

Alarmist portrayals of video games and internet use, for example, only work in a context where people already harbor anxiety over those strange and unfamiliar technologies. "Persuasion from above with consent from below."

And this isn't even taking into account the fact that journalists and TV writers are people living within this context too. Do they all have some hidden agenda to ruin your country, or are they affected by the same influences as everyone else?

I don't think simply blaming the media works.
