If it was a guy who borrowed it, then no.
But it's a girl, so yes. And buy her another one. Or else you'll be hearing about it when your kids are your current age. And you'll hear about it again when your grandkids are your current age.

While you may be a horrible person, (after all, who wears sweaters in March? It's March!) you are not responsible for the Nano's disappearance. How can you be responsible for something you didn't know existed?
Hell, it is March and it started snowing today.
For me a sweater is a good idea.

OT: No, you are not a horrible person. I say the responsibility falls mostly on her, for not telling you that she put it in the pocket.
...Oh yeah.
Sometimes I forget not everyone lives in California.
Hehe, my bad.
Shorts and t-shirts, yay.

You had no idea it was in there and it could have fallen out while she was wearing it. It's not your fault, but you might want to chip in and help her buy a new one so neither one of you has hard feelings (and I mean chip in, as in pay half).

Where I'm from it's freaking cold in March. We've had snow all the way to May before. (This is western NY for anyone who cares.)

No and no, also look for it at home it might turn up
Thank you for saying so.

I already looked at home, but no luck. But who knows, it could be lying underneath a lone bag of trail mix.

Oh geez! A new one?! ~looks around more~ I hope it doesn't come to that...

Heh, I live in Minnesota. I actually love cold weather, but it's starting to warm up here too.

Yay for extremely strange east coast weather

How crazy is that?
It never snows here. Ever.

No, it isn't your fault! If she's upset, she's upset that it's gone, not because you "lost" it. Do you have an iPod or other mp3 player of your own? If so, give it to her to use until she finds it and/or gets a new one. It'd be a thoughtful gesture.

There's always the chance she took it back out of your sweater and forgot.

I did consider lending her one, but I also forgot that I don't have one to lend.... hahaha

I'm hoping for that one. She is forgetful... like me. hahaha

I had this same issue a little while ago and while my girlfriend said it wasn't my fault I still got her one cause I felt bad. If you can't afford an ipod nano I would say at least offer to help fund another.

Hell, we rarely get snow
This year seems to be batshit insane weather-wise
I mean never. We get .2" too much rain to be considered a desert.
And yet, somehow produce 25% of the world's food.

I probably will end up helping her out with buying a new one. There goes my milk money...

Double post.
I blame March.
Leave March alone alright? Shit.

Ontopic: It's not your fault really but don't you think you're overreacting? She sounds pretty forgiving considering she just lost an Ipod.
I probably am, but I really hate doing anything wrong. She surprisingly has been forgiving...so far. But what about tomorrow?! I live in fear...

Here's a story for anyone interested.

My girlfriend was borrowing my sweater yesterday during school and she put her iPod Nano in one of the pockets. She never told me that it was there when she gave the sweater back to me and I went home wearing it.
I come back to school today wearing the same sweater and she reaches into my pockets. She tells me that her iPod is gone when I had no clue that it was in there in the first place. I frantically looked and asked around anywhere it could've been, but no luck.
Now I feel like I'm a horrible person and I'm responsible for it going missing. She told me it was okay, but then I felt even worse....

So, my question is: AM I really a horrible person and AM I responsible for its disappearance?
Since you were not aware of it until it was already gone, then I would consider you completely NOT, repeat NOT, responsible for it.

Some advice for finding it: Don't freak out. Think about where you were wearing the sweater, and calmly retraced you steps. I myself just spent two weeks looking for my video camera, and only after I stopped looking did I find it in the first box I opened.

No, its not your fault at all.

Though, me being the guy who can't steal a pencil or lie on something so simple without feeling bad, I would buy her a new one.
That sounds something like me too. I once gave a guy $20 for a $12 hat that I also lost.
