I lost a bunch of weight over the summer by playing more video games. I would wake up and it would be around noon so it was too late for breakfast. Then I played video games until dinner and only ate dinner and a couple of small snacks. Playing video games kept my mind preoccupied so that I wasn't thinking about food. What's important though is that you drink a lot of water while doing this.

This will only get rid of the fat however, I about a month in I started doing some light workouts to be more fit overall. I don't know if this will work for you, but considering we are on a video game forum I would assume anyone would jump on the idea of a video game related "diet".
I so need to get Fallout 3...

Stop eating unhealthy food and start excersizing. Find a new hobby that involves strenous physical activity. I would suggest rock climbing

Have one slice of cake isntead of mashing your face into the whole thing.

Do some exercise and eat a bit less.

I've gained some weight in the past few months, and I want it off. I have some important things to do that require me to be...well, a lot more fit. Does anyone here have any suggestions? What are some good, healthy ways to lose weight?

Yes, I realize the IMMENSE irony in asking this on a video games forum.
A good way to lose weight is vary your calorific intake. Three days a week you eat the amount you usually eat, then the other four days you eat a hundred or so calories less. For example, Monday-normal, Tuesday-less, Wednesday-normal, etc.

You can't just automatically reduce your calorie intake all the time straight away, as your body gets used to running on the less calories, this way your body will continue to burn off those extra calories on those less days. After a month or so, you can then make your normal days the lesser amount that you were eating and make the less days another 100 or so less calories, or whatever.

My Aunt did this, she went from a UK size 20 to a size 12. It was a gradual and healthier way to lose weight. I hope this helps. xx

Well, it's your lucky day! I'm in nutrition right now. First off, exercise for about an hour a day. And make sure it's mildly rigorous. Also, try to follow the food pyramid pretty closely. If you get the recommended servings, and don't go over, you should get an appropriate amount of calories.

All in all, try to cut 500 calories a day with a combo of exercise and diet control. Good luck!

Well you could try exercising, but if you do you would have to do it until you run out of carbs and your body switches to fat reserves. But then again that never happens.. Try going into hibernation.

No bread, nothing fried. Make yourself an "eating schedule" and respect it.

In the morning always eat a bowl of cereal. Try and always eat veggies a long with your food(You can eat meat, but again it can't be fried).

Exercises. I can't stress that enough. Make yourself another schedule detailing when you're going to exercise, how long will you exercise etc.

Always drink a big glass of water before eating dinner, and never get up from the table feeling full.

That's pretty much it. Worked for me, has to work for you. Oh, and one more tip: DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT eat not even one single piece of bread or anything fried once a week or once a month thinking since it's just once it won't do anything to you. The moment you eat something that's fried you'll want more, and more isn't what we're aiming for here is it? Same goes for bread, you eat just a bit and you'll end up eating 4 slices.

If you can, regular vigorous sex is an amazing toner. Just two or three times a week and you'll be noticing quite an improvement in your physical stature, to the extent of more stamina, less body fat, an increase in muscle tone, the lot. Diet and exercise are hard to maintain sometimes, because we all know about the distractions, complications, time management, all that crap that stands in the way, and that's not even mentioning how flavor, taste, and deliciousness affect things. They can be unfun and tedious, giving you less motivation. Sex, though, is nominally something most people would get excited about, which means you're more inclined to do it. It won't be the most hardcore of weight loss, but you Will lose weight.

Drink water as opposed to anything else. Eat less, but don't leave yourself hungry - if you need food, have food. Exercise in any way , but don't over do it.

Get a decent TV series or bunch of films. Get a chocolate cake. Jog on the spot while watching the TV, every five minutes you jog for take a bite of cake.

Never diet, that's crazy talk. I also find forcing myself to do some push-ups and sit-ups when I wake up every day really makes a difference, and despite making me feel miserable in the short term it generally makes me feel better through-out the day.

Or, get a dog, a big one that likes to play and run around a lot and you'll have to take it running or it will explode with pent up energy, and that would be messy.

Cut out snacks. If you ever get the temptation to just grab a bag of chips or a donut for no reason, don't give in!!! You're stronger than that.

If you want, you can go all out and eat nothing but healthy food and work out constantly. Or, you could do a more reasonable approach and just cut out the most caloric food, snacks and go for a long walk every few days and maybe a run or two.

Wen you first wake up in the morning do 20 pushups. Then drink at least 16 oz of very cold water before eating anything else. This will boost your metabolism by at least 20% for the next few hours.
Eats several small meals over the course of the day. Never skip meals.
Weight train, one pound of muscle burns an extra 30-50 calories a day just sitting there.
When doing cardio, remember intervals. Changing speed and intensity burns more calories than a steady pace.
Once you get a routine, change it up. for example, one weight day, perform high reps with low weight, the next weight day use heavy weights with fewer reps.
Rest at least one day between weight days for muscle recovery (which burns calories). I personally alternate weight and cardio days.
Visit http://www.menshealth.com/cda/homepage.do for more info. I lost 60 lbs of fat and added 20 lb of muscle since I started subscribing.
