SPORE

SWEET JESUS I WILL MAKE WILL WRIGHT BURN FOR THAT FETHING PILE OF SHIT

Ahem

On a slightly more civilised note: Empire Total War. It was decent by the end, but only after a year of dissapointing patching and awkward moments where it became painfully obvious CA wanted to drop it like a hot potatoe and move onto better things. For my money and a year of crappy gameplay that was only upgraded to What-I-Expected-Out-Of-The-Box by the time I gave up on it, and so did CA

Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. Had some decent reviews, as well as an advertised "32 person online multiplayer" only to find out multiplayer had been removed from the Aus version. I've never returned a game so fast.

3)the Wii;

Do I really need to explain this?*

And to make it worse, I can't sell it because my family uses it as well.

[sub/][sub/][sub/]*I will not explain it, no matter how much you ***** and moan[/sub][/sub][/sub]
I hate you and blah blah a bunch of stuff about your mom*

*No I won't explain why I feel the need to insult your mother!

Please, put down the flamethrower. Do you see the point I was making there? Yes, anytime you categorically rail on something or someone, you need to explain it. Otherwise, we can assume all kinds of wacky reasons why you don't like it. I personally love my Wii, in part BECAUSE only a half dozen decent games are released for it every year (I have a career and a sex life, thank you very much). And I loved Galaxy and am eagerly awaiting the sequel.
The thread is about things you regret buying, not things you regret buying + a 1000 word thesis explaining why you regret buying it.

mine that I paid for would be Too Human. I even bought it the first day it came out, and the game was really over-hyped. One i got for an Christmas gift.....Last Year, is space chimps which I can't return, refuse to play and it's only use is to be the replacement frisbee

Guild Wars, was playing World of Warcraft at the time and a friend of mine who didn't want to play WoW because of the monthly fee suggested we play GW cause you only pay for the game and it looks good, and bla bla .. anyway, I bought the game and ended up playing it for about ... 30 minutes, the game just sucks compared to WoW, I've seen better Free MMORPGs so that is saying much ..

Maybe I didn't give the game enough time to grow on me but from personal experience if it sucks at first it will rarely get better.

I'm astounded at how many people continuously gripe and moan about a game they bought without actually thinking about it. Most of the titles in these threads (for this is very much a repeat thread, one almost as common as a bloody news post) are really low-quality games that they paid actual money for, and are then, shockingly, disappointed when the game turns out to be less than, say, mediocre. Suck it up, ya'll. Sell it off to some poor schmuck or gamestore for a few cred, then get something actually worth getting. Like Spore. Bought it, played it, was horribly dissatisfied, so I sold it to a friend for ten dollars less than I bought it for, and bought something else. Make your mistakes, learn your mistakes, then fix your mistakes. If not...well, you can always keep bitching on pointlessly ranty threads.
lul... isn't this a pointless and ranty post too? xD

OT Last Remnant.

but it almost doesn't even count, because when i saw it on steam i thought it was last odyssey, then i downloaded a demo, couldn't make heads or tails of the content, then deleted that shet. 2 weeks later, i see a 50 or 75% discount on it, and i was fooled it was Lost Odyssey again... i just saw the square enix badge and thought, hey, this couldn't be so bad, could it?

Nearly bought Rogue Warrior off steam until my friend slapped me across the back of my head and told me how much it sucked.
Didn't the metacritic rating jump out as a huge warning? :p
To be honest, I almost bought it because I read a preview a while back in a PC mag, it looked like an awesome game and I thought: 'this looks awesome, I don't see how they can screw it up...'

Well, they found a way. After watching Youtube videos of the gameplay, it's obvious they completely changed the game since the preview I read.

Now I didn't ask for a 1000 word thesis, Mr. Snarky Hyperbolic Guy, now did I?

Thanks for your contribution.

Simcity Societies. I paid full price for it too.

Played it once and threw it away within the hour.

if you don't like the wii then you haven't bought the right games for it or you we're stupid to buy it in the first place. end of discussion.

and I probably have to say hellgate london as when I heard it was being made I got into PC gaming, then over time I heardabout it getting shittier and shittier. then I bought it for the hell of it (get it?) and it turned out the game sucked even more than I previously thought it would.

Dance Dance Revolution: SuperNOVA. Abysmal.

DDRMAX was great! Bunch of Konami classics.
DDRMAX2 was good! Added some new stuff, and the dance tracks for the US version were alright.
DDR Ultramix wasn't bad. I got into a few new bands from the songs in that game.
DDR Extreme was okay, but the Mission Mode was a fun new twist. Needed to hex-edit my save to turn off corner arrows though.
DDR Extreme 2 was bleh, but I had recently bought beatmania, so I still had hope for Bemani.

SuperNOVA took those hopes and crumbled them into dust.
