You people make me both sick at my stomach, and you make my sides hurt with laughter.
On one hand, you have people who buy into every single piece of hype the media throws at them.
On the other you have people who want to be edgy and have a big ol' bone against society and seethe with hatred against anyone who gets any hype whatsoever.
Like how Metallica lost a huge chunk of fans in the 90's because they became too popular. Its fucking hillarious.
Let me finish with my crazy idea. How about you loons play the game, and decide for yourself instead of being a bunch of goddamn sheep. Its not even out yet and half of you are crucifying it and the other half are praising it.
I agree with this, I said something simmilar before Gears of War 2 came out (I can't remember the thread so if anyone's that desperate to quote me word for word then you can look by yourself, happy hunting), have we played the game yet?
No.
Then we don't know what it's going to be like so we shouldn't jinx ourselves.
It's okay for people to buy into hype and be excited as long as they keep it to themselves or others who do the same (that way they rebound of each other and no-one else gets sick and tired of hearing about it), keep it to yourself because the rest of us don't want to hear it.
I suppose it's also okay for some people to loath and despise hype as long as they follow the same logic, don't get too preachy about it or you're just as bad as the followers of hype.
I always tend to be more suspicious of nay sayers than anyone else when it comes to gaming and pop culture, since emo became popular again it has become popular to dislike everything with a witty sense of self satisfaction ('don't believe what the media and everyone else tells you, I know it's going to be shit because...er...it's gonna be another Halo...but in super stabby mutant form...I wanna play Braid again').
