Amazing reward for the reference.
The Colt and one of those spikes the angels carry, and you're set.

I'm a bow guy, nice quick, beats Kevlar, and best of all silent. While I prefer traditional recurves or longbows a compound would be the preference in a combat scenario.

Even though i favor the sword over the gun, there is one gun that always has a place in my hear.
The Red9
Its German designed so its from my homeland and supposed to be somewhat powerful.
And who doesn't love a shotgun, its a trademark weapon of many badass action hero's im even designing one for my character.

I'd go for a Berretta Model 70s. 22.Long rifle and once favored by the Mossad. A PS90 would make for great home defense what with it's size and large magazines.
Meh 5.7 isnt the best round for self-defense, especially for the price of it.

OT, I'm actually getting a Colt 1903 pistol tomorrow, so pumped, but my next rifle is going to be either a FAL, M1 Garand or M1 Carbine

The CM901 is a new rifle Colt making for the US Army that is being tested now.

It is a multi-caliber, change on the fly, rifle. Multiple, easy too change barrels, 7.62 or 5.56 ammo.

I could kick down the door with the 10.3-inch barrel, 5.56 ammo in the chamber. What is this? the enemy is 600m away coming in!! Lets switch too the 16-inch barrel, 7.62 ammo, and reach out to touch someone.

I want this Rifle, I need this Rifle. I am getting all tingly just thinking about this Rifle.

Note: (I want discussion on new weapons, how sweet old weapons are, ect. I do not care if you don't like guns, I do, and I will not talk about gun rights in this thread. I want to talk about my BOOM STICKS. [/rant])
That gun is dead sexy. I want that gun. Fuck, if I can get that gun, I'll join the army now!

Guns are fun. Theyre fun to fire, you can hunt with them, have target competitions with them, all sorts. Guns are a hobby, like fishing or tinkering with cars, hence some people's "fixation" :D

Probably bollocks, I doubt their superiours would let them use AKs. They sound like enemy fire, and the US army wont issue it's men with the riht ammo for them.
Yeah, that was a major problem in Vietnam. US soldiers abandoned the original M16s for AK's, but the sound demoralized US troops because then nobody knew who was shooting where.

I have no idea what the reference is, but I just had to say that looks like a sweet classic revolver. I quite like the little pentagram carved into the grip.

I'm going to go against the crowd here, and say, I'm a real fan of pistols, particularly snub-nosed revolvers like the Detective Special :

Good old blackpowder muzzleloaders like this are nice too.

Holy sweet Jesus, if this turns out like it looks like it will(unlike the X-8) I will jizz myself. If all goes well it will probably go into service about the same time I do by my guess. That my friend will be epic! Though my first love will always be the Glock 19 as far as firearms go, and somehow I doubt it will ever fully replace the M-16 for some time.

I believe that's a durability issue. You can damned near run over an AK and, so long as the firing pin's still in place, it'll fire just fine.
Yes indeed, the AK is an amazing weapon. Let me direct you do a quote from a Vietnam vet!

One of the bulldozers uncovered the decomposing body of an enemy soldier, complete with AK-47. I happened to be standing right there, looking down into the hole and pulled the AK out of the bog. "Watch this, guys," I said, "and I'll show you how a real infantry weapon works." I pulled the bolt back and fired 30 rounds ? the AK could have been cleaned that day rather than buried in glug for a year or so. That was the kind of weapon our soldiers needed, not the confidence-sapping M16
I also like that gun in th OP. The not as powerful (As the old M1 Garands or M14s) 5.56 cartridge in the M16s has always bothered me a bit, so I'm glad they may be getting the potential of more firepower in a 7.62 rifle.

Bullshit, I have never heard of any US soldiers using AKs. They have no reason to, if you take can of an M-16 is a far superior rifle than the AK.

The whole AR vs. AK debate is long-running and filled with misinformation. True the M16 when it first came out wasn't the best rifle in the world, because the government was like 'Hey, this gun is magic, you don't have to clean it or anything, and it'll work just fine!" and voila, the gun has jamming issues. Since the M16A2, it's been good, now that we actually take care of them. It can get dirty and all that in the field of battle, but at the end of the day, gotta clean the gun, that's all. I've heard a personal story from a friend of mine in the military where an Al Qaeda member popped out and emptied a mag into his squad. His squadmate popped him, and afterwards they checked each other for wounds and no one was hit, because the AK was awful on automatic fire. At the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference, and I'd prefer to accurately fire on more than single shot. If I wanted a 7.62 rifle I'd get an FAL or a G3. (BTW I have a CETME, which is the Pre-HK G3)

Have you read the thread? They (the other people)are not mistaken.

Our soldiers in Iraq have had a habit of chucking a few AKs in the back of their Humvee on patrol. They're cheap as dirt and could save your life at some point, so why not?

Well, even towards the end of 'Nam the M16 was miles better than at the very beginning. It just got stuck with a poor rep.
