Oh yeah and by the way, when I said join a co-op game, I meant like a server or whatever. You could either start a server online, a lan one, a split screen co-op and if you do start a server you could set limit on the players or a password so you don't get dicks or so the game doesn't get too hard.

Again, Play Co-Op,
Rimmy

Edit: Besides, for all you single player fans, it's not like they are forcing co-op on you. You might not like it, others might. So really, you don't have much to complain about.

Maybe if they made a game still based in the Elder Scrolls world, but not one that's part of the main series. I like playing the Elder Scrolls games by myself, but would definitely play one that was multiplayer as well.

EDIT - Or if they made it an optional part of one of the games. Similar to how GTA IV works. Being able to free roam in the game's world, but being able to do quests as well. Maybe adding some specific multiplayer quests only available whilst playing multiplayer.

I disagree.

The enjoyment in Bethesda games for me comes from the feeling of complete immersion in the environment and a lovely, relaxed zen feeling I get from exploring their worlds on my own.

Anyway, there would be huge balance issues due to the levelling.
this. Not to mention, I can't see anyone putting hundreds of hours into a co-op, like you do with these elder scrolls games. Co-op is a complete waste of dev time and money on this.

I disagree. With co-op, MORE things would happen compared to single player. And lots of people want to play co-op, it just seems to be dying out in this age of mindless Halo and CoD clones.
And so, with more things happening, I can bet you that there will be HUNDREDS of hours put into playing it.

But there's one major problem that stops all Elder Scrolls games from ever having multiplayer, which is resting. Ingame you rest for insanely long times, sometimes in excess of a few days for experienced characters, and how do you translate that into real-time multiplayer? It just doesn't work.

Do what minecraft did. If everyone rests, then the game skips ahead X number of hours.

Wait, Minecraft did what?
And I suppose that could work for 2-4 player co-op, but not if there's a griefer there or for more than 4. :|

You mean, you wish Skyrim will HAVE Co-Op. Its not out yet.
I do want it too, but with the ability to set rules, and only one person aiding, similar to Fable. No lobbies, no versus (les you start attacking eachother with friendly fire on), bt settable co-op. Do I tihnk it will be simple? No, but it would be nice to have a friend to adventure with.

I wish ALL RPGs had a multiplayer mode. I would only play with my friends though, too much potintal for griefing.

There I agree with you, but if you read my other posts it will tell you two things.

One, I love co-op
Two, how to avoid griefers.

There are a couple of ways

1. A password
2. Split Screen
3. A limit on players
4. Friends only
5. Just play a LAN game

If you get a greifer while playing with you mates, you probably need new ones

Still flying the Co-Op Flag high,
Rimmy

EDIT: And if all else fails, either train your dog really really well or just maybe, go outside and make a new friend?

i can see the benefit of both arguments
games by Bethesda are all about immersion. having your friend alongside would hinder that a bit especially since its completely open world. sometimes the best co-op is seen in games with linear and direct plots and missions.

but i also agree that if you find the right friend it could be a blast! that could lead to some epic cave searches or some fantastic dragon slaying or something...
(hmm, my inspiration to take up dungeons and dragons right there....)
still id say no, in the end its probably not worth the effort.

See! That's what I mean! Epic dragon slaying, cave crashing and all of that good stuff is what I'm yelling at people on forums for!

EDIT: And there's also the problem of your character swinging his sword every which way. Honestly, it doesn't look like Skyrim's combat is going to be tons better than Oblivions', and accidental teammate killing was, unfortunately, something that happened often.
This.
Stupid sword swinging >.>
Yeah, but on the other hand, accidentally hosing down your partner with gunfire in Saints Row 2 was hilarious if you were both in the same room and could yell at each other... :p

Captcha: banquet erecil ...that just sounds nasty.

Just had a look at it, and I'd say from reading that wiki page, that it's a shitty game. It said something along the lines of hack and slash less expansive ect and something about the only thing it had to offer was more action than normal..... hmm

PLAY REAL CO-OP,
Rimmy

i know!! just thinking about iv come up with some awesome ideas! but they just wouldn't work for the type of game skyrim is. ( or will be, who are we to know)
im hoping after there work on rage they will get some multi-player ideas, and im hoping they make some online version but right now i don't see any way to incorporate co-op successfully :/
