Another way to look at it is that comics are obviously marketed towards men (women tend to be very scantily clad and with larger bosoms, and tend to be in ridiculous poses to highlight that fact), even though there are plenty of women who read them.

They are either brave, boyish gentlemen or raw, aggressive animals, both classic examples of stereotypical attractions to women. There are plenty of men who read comics. What's your point? Secondly, why is it "insulting" to theorise about sexuality? People accept it when scientists "act like they know better about them personally" when it comes to most other aspects of their psyche and body. Or most other aspects of their life, for that matter. Thirdly, if "clearly some kind of in-between exists" what exactly is your point? All I said is that "a grey area exists and everyone falls somewhere along it". I don't agree with the OP that we should call this "bisexuality", but I don't think anyone can reasonably claim that they are 100% straight and never fluctuate. I of course have no facts to back this up, because you would need to objectively determine the sexuality of every human to ever exist and see where they fall on the scale. But I don't believe it's likely to find someone so perfectly gay or straight. Regardless of what people claim, it just seems very unlikely.

That is the crux of my argument. Just because something is a spectrum does not mean that people cannot occupy the poles. Thinking as much is reductivist and I state, partially in jest, that among members of the bisexual community there is a growing trend of "Heterophobia", simply not understanding that heterosexuals can be just as sure of their sexuality as bisexuals, asexuals or homosexuals.

Sure, you can occupy the pole.
But what about the idea that sexuality fluctuates, and that nobody can stay on their end of the spectrum 100% of the time. I don't mean suddenly finding men attractive when you normally wouldn't (although that's a possibility), but minor ticks back and forth.

For an extreme example, you could consider lobotomisation. That's a certain way to dramatically shift someone towards asexuality.

In fact, presuming most emotional responses (including attraction) is a result of neuro-chemistry, it may be technically possible to alter someone's sexuality chemically. As controversial as that seems.
