Basically the attribute has to be reasonable, no superpowers or extra limbs. And the scientists would tell you that something like "greatest baseball player who ever lived" is a mix of different things. You can have "naturally good at tennis" but not the greatest or best or fastest. And for the sake of argument we'll assume no-one else in the world has access to the technology so this is sort of an extra bonus to your firstborn.
