If you could go back in time and stop a game from being made, which one would it be?

My choice would be The Hobbit that came out a while back, and I bought it for $50 god knows why and found the game to not be that entertaining, go figure.

I would not delete a single game because somewhere even the most lowly videogame has an audience.
What makes it our right to deprive people of something they might enjoy?
We have no right to force anything on others just because we do not like it.
Thank goodness we don't have time machines or else your worst nightmare would come true. Woe is the day for the lowly Big Rigs developer when we develop a time machine. You best prevent us from ever defying Einsteinian physics, darthsmily. /sarcasm

Halo. Good bye fanboys! They bug me and although I don't have a beef with the game, I dislike the fanboys.
This thread has been done. And I'm yet to run into more than four of these mythical beings. Despite being told there are hordes of them out there, I'm yet to meet a fifth.
Halo haters, however, can be found in dozens with nary a glance.
Ironic, isn't it?

I'm not going to bother posting beyond this though; this thread has been done too much.

Halo because of the things it introduced to other games. Like regenerating health, limited weapon slots, console fanboys and teabagging. Gah!
What's wrong with the former two? And it didn't popularize that latter two.

If I'd go back in time I'd make a game have regenerating health and limited weapons sooner. That way maybe we wouldn't have all these people who think the only proper way to make a shooter is to make the play pick up arbitrary health packs to restore their hitpoints and allow them to carry an arsenal worthy of an apocalypse army.
I'm sorry, anyone who thinks that being able to carry a super shotty, plasma rifle, BFG 9000 and a chainsaw at the same time is a bad idea gets no respect from me.

It's obvious that it depends on the game whether limited weapon slots and hitpoint regen is what you want. Play half-life 2 with halo system and it would suck balls, play halo with half-life 2 system and it would suck balls, although that might just be the halo part.

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.

Maybe the original Zelda, to see how it shaped the future.
Otherwise, probably Halo 2.

I remember a thread like this a few months ago.

I would say either Metal Gear Solid or the Final Fantasy series for various reasons I have explained in other threads.

The rabid ones are rare but, a lot of the lesser ones play nothing but Halo for multiplayer. That has caused me problems.

I remember when it was still cool to be a Halo hater. Now everyone and their dog hates Halo.

I'm sure you could have.

Anyway, I'm not arguing that that isn't a way to play shooters. I'm arguing that it's not the only way.

That's fanboys for you, unfortunately.

I would remove Duke Nukem Forever. That thing made me so excited in my pants for ages, then never delivered. Sigh.

I'd stop KOTOR 2 from being made by Obsidian, I hate that game so much for souring the sequel to my favorite game ever.

I would definitely erase Super Mario because I would like to see Nintendo balance their budget without that chubby little Italian dude.

I'd choose Warhammer Age of Reckoning. I was built up (No thanks to my friend explaining its greatness, THANKS KYLE!) on a game that would supposable give me the ability to make fists rain from the skies killing my opponents and pummeling their corpses to goo, but instead I got world of warcraft with more lag, equal graphics, and lore obsessed fanboys who scream at you for not putting enough A's in your WAAAAAGH. And now my friend (KYLE) refuses to understand why I don't like it and says "Oh it's just your computer is too slow".
