Everyone has thought of this at least once in their life. What would be the one thing you would have from all of science fiction?

I would personally have the Holodeck from Star Trek:TNG to live out my fantasy life.
I think you got it spot on. The holodeck... that would be incredible.

I want the mind/body transfer/replacement machine from Old Man's War, although a Stargate would come in a close second.

I don't get this. Why just have an awesome fantasy life when you can have an awesome REAL life?

Because of two similar, yet divergent, sayings:

With great power comes great responsibility.
With great toys comes one hell of an electric bill.

I'm gonna hop on the bandwagon and say a TARDIS.
Can't really think of anything more awesome myself.

Definitely a Sonic Screwdriver. I mean, A TARDIS gives you more possibilities, but I wouldn't want to accidentally bring about the end of the universe.

Captain Jack Harkness' Sonic Blaster. I'm not a violent person but the ability to cut a hole in walls could be enjoyable.

Any problems I have can be solved by punching them out of the universe
Yes, those things around it are galaxies and they are used as shurikens.
Hate to fill in the environmental impact form for that fight... personally I would go for a stalker pattern boltgun or a camoline cloak from warhammer 40k.

Some form of technology that effectively makes me completely immortal and undying unless I decide otherwise.

Well it's not an exact fit, but have you read I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream?
