Curse you, OP! I can't think of anything that would help the world at large more than a greater level of empathy across the board; except maybe a stronger desire to act on that empathy rather than just have it sit in yor mind.

We need magical powers.

I'll get someone on that right away.

You idiot!

You know what people are like, that'll only make wars even WORSE.

Ahem.

OT:

I'd like for the average intelligence of the world's population to go up to a minimum of 140 or so.

That...

or willful ignorance (and acting on it) being universally considered a morally abhorrent thing.

I'd like to upgrade the human race to non existent. Think of all the wonderful things everything else in the world could do if we all just fucked off!

Mutant super powers.
Screw all this "more peace/love/understanding" PC nonsense. Humans have always been at their best when they were at their worst. I'd take teleportation myself, it just opens up so many possibilities.

It's cool. ;) I like the non-brag mentality too (well hey, I grew up with it), but it saddens me to see it going overboard. The "no one can ever think they're better than anybody else in any field, ever"-mentality is spreading like wildfire in our schools right now (thanks a lot, politicians) and it's a complete talent-killer.

I've got a good one - Tolerance.

As in the ability to accept that other people believe in and have values in different things than you.

This one little aspect can change the world, I tell you. No more religious wars, gender issues, trolls, opinions as facts, racism....who wouldn't want that?

More control over our passive systems in our body like metabolism and other things. Like thinking "ok, I ate a lot of calories for lunch, maybe I'll just not digest all that properly." And pain too, so like if you know somethings going o hurt but it's good for you, like getting an injection, you just decide not to feel it, because that pain isn't doing you any good. Not just in a mind over matter way but literally just not finding it unpleasant. And being able to focus on the work that's due for tomorrow rather than being drawn back to posting on the escapist. Just some sort of Mental Override system.

I mean it's pretty lame but also pretty fundamental things that it's surprising that we can't control. I know these could get badly abused and don't really advance us much but overall I think it'd be a cool thing to be able to do.

Upgrade brain usage in total to 50% average, 100% above-average instead of the general 10%. Just to see what we're capable of, and maybe we'll see something else.

You know how in A clockwork Orange where the main character gets a treatment where he becomes physically ill when he thinks about hurting someone else?

Something like that maybe.
Someone missed the point of A Clockwork Orange entirely. The whole message of it was to make people think that if we violently and remorselessly impress our will on other people, are we any better than the monsters we're supposedly curing?

Anyway, back OT: There is only one thing that could improve humanity: More cowbell.

Tolerance.

With increased tolerance people are more likely to understand more about the people that they hated. Though, Religion will always find a way to screw it up

Do bio-tech augmentations count? That does not necessarily have to do with the human race itself, so much as a creation thereof, but if it counts, yeah: bio-tech augmentations.

If not, a greater dose of selfishness would be wonderful. All this 'selfless' garbage swirling about in the air is killing me slowly. And naturally I mean this in the Randian sense of the word.

Any person I desire would not be able to resist my advances.
He did say the human race, not just yourself. So, in order for this to apply to the thread, everyone of (genetic group x) would get these super pheromones or however it works.
Yeah, so their supergenes would be an inability to resist my advances. Distinct from I would be able to woo anyone I desired, because the change is happening to everyone else.

Speechcraft. Maybe then people wouldn't have to hide behind their mobile phones at all times, and people in the street or on the bus might actually be open to a conversation for once.
