Edit: Seems some people seem to be confused what a Console is, Its not something that needs Windows / Linux or Mac OS. also Emulation doesn't count when claiming PC

you should note, all consoles have an operating system, they all serve a variety of functions as well. they are less consoles and more computers now, hence why you can use a ps3 as a linux computer and why you can watch videos online using netflix on a 360. there is no reason not to pic a pc if you use that as your gaming system. its legit, new modern games are released for it (just got modern warfare 2 and mass effect 2 last week)

Indeed all consoles have some sort of OS but there still a CONSOLE not a PERSONAL COMPUTER

sorry about that, i agree with you, but at the same time i say pc's should be considered as a legitimate gaming system even without emulators on the same level as consoles

Even though I don't actually have one, I'd go with Xbox 360 so I can continue to play Valve games. That and most of the games I play right now on my PS3 are multiconsole, so I wouldn't lose much.

Playstation 2 due to the fact that some of my all time favorite JRPGs are on it...my 360 might have gotten top because of FFXIII, but it red ringing today kind of disqualified it.

PS3 would be my choice. Particularly MY PS3 as it has a big HDD, memory card slots, a TV tuner/recorder, and is backwards compatable with PS2 an one games. You also have those great games like Uncharted, Infamous, MGS4, Killzone, Motorstorm, Wipeout HD, and Flower. Not to mention Blu Ray films.
