I'm 14 I have RDR had L4D 2 and MW2...
The only time I hout down the mike is when somone insults my country even then only when i'm extemely tired. Point being age does not = maturity. For instance quite a few people my age are right winged bigots I've even heard somone in my HUMANITIES class shout 'BNP BNP, Death to all niggers, BNP BNP!'. I myself can be one of the most open minded people you can know and the only things I hate with a passion is bigotry and pericution. Quite a few 'adults' cannot say that my own dad once said 'Gender changing operations are self mutilation'.

Yes, but are you playing a game that's suitable for you? See, this is the kicker, and what adults hate most, when we get into an M rated game, which is meant solely for us, and there are a bunch of 12, 13, 14 year olds, screaming at us, all because "mommy" doesn't know dick about games, or what a little shit "Timmy" is, and doesn't check the ESRB sticker on the back of the box.

This is what really infuriates us. If kids would stay on their own games, the ones rated E, and T, then I think we would get much less pissed about dickheads acting like assholes. When a 34 year old is trying to talk trash, it's sad and we laugh at him, when a 12 year old is doing it, it's infuriating and we want to give his father a forced vasectomy.

Also I find that on XBL anyway the mics tend to give your voice more treble than required which makes even older people sound a little bit squeaky, so when a 12 year old hops on to a game (MW2 for instance) that is rated MA 15+ in my country and starts whining and complaining about the enemies being noobs when he has walked into the line of fire of the same damn sniper for the umpteenth time in a row it gets just a little bit tiring. However if your willing to play as part of a team and not whinge then thats fine, having said that I also notice a lot of people in this age group who think that sitting in a corner with dual 1887's is the height of strategy.

Of course this is something I have come to expect from a 13 year old gamer. I don't mind so much if they don't talk, but if they open their mouths, I get on the ban button.

As for the topic, I really don't think you should take that to heart. They're just using the age that's around yours as a generalization. Nobody is really hating you for anything. People are always going to generalize things, there's nothing you can do about that. People will always assume stuff about you before they really know you. If it truly bothers you that much, then just keep your age to yourself.

I rarely play games that are rated as appropriate for under 15s multiplayer, so really the kind of games I play shouldn't be swamped with little children screaming into mics. They aren't, so I guess parents are either aware that they shouldn't let their children play adult rated videogames and/or let their children roam the internet unsupervised.
