Good luck with that, OP. I'll be paying upfront in cash for my copy of Diablo III and enjoying every minute of it. The only way I can see the mandatory internet connection being a problem is if you have a set quota of time you can use or you're *shudder* on Dial-Up. Are you on Dial-Up, OP? If so, WHY!?!?!

This didn't warrant a thread... at all. The OP is in a minority of Diablo fans... or he frequently enjoyed using hacks and mods in the first two games and now, OH NO, he'd have to play the game properly.

Most of us have stable internet connections and this is not a problem at all. I welcome some deterrents against no-life dipshit hackers. The less I have to deal with a bunch of 14 year old Emo's that think they're hot shit because they use character hacks that they didn't even make themselves, the better.

Niether am I! Someone congratulate me, now!

Although, to be honest I never really planned to. The DRM thing just took me from "meh, maybe" to "hell no".
CONGRATULATIONS ::shakes hand:; i'm not getting it either because i dislike DRM, don't like Blizz legalizing gold farming for their cuts, don't like the idea of a RMAH and mainly because those people that defend all those listed no matter the cost which just makes me facepalm to them loving a fist up their ass.

I'm not, while i fully support your stand, i never intended to play it offline in the first place, so it doesn't hurt me, and given this day and age, i'm not happy they're not shipping it with a compulsory spyware pack, and a 10$ price on every minor update, then again, after the merge with activision, i wouldn't honestly be supprised to see even blizzard do the later, despite my respect for them.

always on drm only really effects people who plan to steal the game, besides if its actually good i'm sure some one out there in the big wide interwebs will make a hack for it that will allow off line play, and blizzard will probably allow it eventually anyway

My internet is always on.

If my internet is ever NOT on, I do not tut and play an offline game; I panic. Fire and blood is often involved.
And that's how Equestria was made why I'm buying Diablo III.

Why would you do that when you can buy Torchlight 2? It's cheaper and the developers actually CARE. They're not gonna take a shit on it just for the sake of profit.

Cause of the always on-line requirements.

I always liked Diablo series, but was never a huge fan. I played the first one, and played the second one quiet a bit, so i was looking forward to Diablo 3.

I have a good computer, stable and fast internet connection, and had all the intention of buying the game (instead of getting a hacked copy, which i can oh so easily do), but i wont.

Whos with me? :)

P.S. this isnt about the latest Jimquisition episode. I decided not to buy Diablo 3 a long time ago, Jim just reminded me :)
Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap.

Has no effect on me whatsoever, I will be buying and enjoying this game (provided it's good) with my friends and siblings asap. Whether you get it or not should come down to whether you want to play. And it doesn't bother me in the slightest if you don't.

I've watched all their stuff so far and it looks pretty damn well what a Diablo game should look like. I'm slightly miffed that you can't zoom in more to see the pretty armours but I somehow get the feeling there won't be as many variations as there were in Diablo II.

Besides, it's not like Dungeons of Dredmore suffered hashly for lack of armour designs.

Got to disagree with you there friend. It looks nothing like what a Diablo game should look like. The pallet choice for both character and level design is too vibrant. It makes everything look cartoonish and out of place by clashing violently with the dark lore of the previous games. It makes it harder to take the story seriously. Plus the problems concerning the auction house and internet connection which I'm sure people have already brought up.

Plus they got rid of the Necromancer. Seriously Blizzard, You can go fuck a bee hive for that alone.

Oh, okay. I see.

No, but really. A bit of colour is REALLY so bad?

Yeah, it really is. It looks a lot like wow. That said I might be swayed if Blizzard use that pic for their box art.

No, I'm not with you.

I have a stable, fast internet connection, Friends on other Blizzard games and I honestly don't care if I have to be online to play it.

I can see why people without a solid connection are bugged, but I doesn't affect me, at all.
In fact, sometimes it's funny to see how much we want other media to go digital and online, but when our games do it, it's fire and brimstone.

Music: Dumbasses should have joined Napstar way back then.
Newspaper: I got my new online for free.
Movies: Movies on Demand is the future baby.
Games: I need internet!? Goddamnit!

..again, I understand that it's a bit annoyed that it NEEDS to be online. A Offline mode wouldn't have been a totally stupid idea.
But I also see this as moving along with the technology.

Ah yes, WoW. That high testament to failure that nobody ever actually played, and which the emulation of is certainly a death knell.

Oh, wait...
So you admit that Diablo 3 is emulating WoW?
