Impossible Achievments

The other day I downloaded the NES arcade version of Smash TV on XBLA. It's a fantastic little game, and I really appreciate the direct port as opposed to messing with the graphics and mechanics. This of course, also brings with it the outlandish difficulty that comes with any good NES title, and you can except to die about 50-500 times on your first hour long run through of the game. After playing through it twice, I realized that I only had 30 achievement points, and that puzzled me, considering the fact that the game just isn't very deep. You have a gun, you point and shoot crazy people wielding bats. I went on to read the description of the achievements and was blown away. All the the biggies were completing the levels without using a continue. For those of you unfamiliar with this game; going through the entire game without using a continue would be an EXTREMELY difficult task unless you are Billy Mitchell or Steve Weibe.

To be fair, of course no achievements on the 360 are "impossible,"(probably...) and this topic isn't about Smash TV. Its about the feeling of absolute despair that I was engulfed with when I read an achievement (or in my case four achievements) that there was just no discernible way for me personally to ever achieve. Now, I don't judge my self-value on XBOX achievements but damn...

Has anyone else here ever come across an achievement that they feel is next to impossible?

I mean, how can you even expect a "no" here?
Ofcourse there are such achievements for EVERYONE in the world.

I heard about an achievement that you could only get by playing online with a member of the game's development team! But I don't remember what game that was about..

Much games. The one that swoops to mind is GTA IV.
That was easy.

You had to play with a player who had played in a match with a Rockstar development team member, and since the game was so popular, it was easily attainable.

Well... yes. City life 2008 has a few scenarios which I can't get my head around. Mario was frustrating, I never managed to finish that game. Call of Duty world at war was almost as frustrating as Mario. And to tell the truth I really think the main difference between the levels of frustration was the fact that CoD had save.

There's that one in Mirror's Edge that you get for beating the game without firing a bullet, yet there is a part where you have to snipe a car.

Achievements where you have to be the developers high score at something. There are a lot of games that have this and it seems impossible. They MADE the freaking game how are you supposed to be better then them.

The achievement is for not firing a bullet at an enemy. And it's not that hard to get if you get into the flow of the game.

I think that the "Cr0wned" achievement in Left 4 Dead is pretty impossible. Also, I can't get the "Barf Bagged" achievement in Left 4 Dead either. I know it's not that difficult, but I can't seem to get all four survivors close enough together to barf on all of them :S

Ah, sorry for the repeat thread then...
I started to write about one thing then changed without searching. Sorry people!

Ah, could be. I don't have GTA4, I'm not interested in it, no matter how many sites give it a 10..

Naah, those are both easy.

Play a game by yourself on easy, grab the combat auto shotgun, turn your light off, sneak up behind the witch, aim at the bottom of her hair (I know it's not her head), and BLAAM! Achievement.

The barf bag one I got because the other team was crazy dumb. Just keep playing until you get a crazy dumb team. It'll happen.

For me, the hardest is the 'Mile High Club' on CoD:4. Can't do it. Tried so many times. I give up.
