Asking for touching, emotional moments in MW2 is like asking for the same in a Michael Bay Movie.

How about this: it shows you boarding an airplane on its way to the middle east, with your wife seeing you off. As you are entering the Airport, you observe a man in a Red Army (or whatever it is called) uniform embracing a woman, and then you gun them down, which triggers a flashback to the scene you mentioned. I think your idea (and mine) are both equally cheesy and predictable, but I think that mine might be a bit more practical.

Apologies to the OP but...

I still don't get why Price launched the nuke at America or a least I don't get why he thinks it's good the silo doors are open. I'm probably a tard but can someone enlighten me what the fook this about?
*sigh* you know that emp that hit washington? yeah? price launched that, that was his plan in getting to the submarine. he launched it because he knew it would take out alot of the russian forces plus all their air superiority and armour. Sheperd used the emp by blaming the russians for it to get his blank check. Prices exact words in the cutscene were "you want to put out a fire on an oil rig you've gotta light a bigger one next to it" that's what he did, he used a very powerfull weapon to take out the less powerfull russian equipment, bada-bing bada-boom it works
firstly, the sigh was unnecessary
secondly, it's been explained about 3 times now

here is the best way to improve the game. Remove all of the crap involving the 141. prolong all the State side combat in DC. how awsome would that be to Humvee down the streets of DC engaging Russian positions in historical land marks? or the iconic heated fire fights in a Mall... screw this brazilan shanty town crap give me some high class civilization to fight in!
well perhaps a compromise could be made - in America you get MW3:USA edition were you play a marine who gets killed and we will get MW3:SAS edition when our character comes along to fix what you did wrong. I'm kidding...but will you take the WW2 bait? I mean let's be honest MW pretty much paints the US in a bad light and gives the hero roles to the brits.

Something else that could make the game emotionally difficult for some peope would be to have American soldiers standing between you and that last kill instead of mercenaries.

i think they were meant to display american soldiers. they had us insignia on the shoulders and used us-smallarms, and who else who can get anything better would use them voluntarely...

Sorry, but the last thing we need in gaming right now is another "dead wife" thing. Gears of War 2 tried it, and it fell flat. Not once did I ever sympathize with Dom or even care about his wife, because there was never any real development in that department. You can't just plop down a relationship and say "sympathize!", because that's just not how it works.

I always thought the airport scene could have been improved by ditching the whole "CIA undercover operative" premise and putting you in the shoes of one of Makarov's true men. You'd be forced to become someone who believes 100% in what they're doing when in actuality, you believe (presumably) quite the opposite. It'd be an interesting moral conflict that would have made that scene a little more powerful. Don't know how they would have pinned it on the US if they did it that way, though.

the point isn't who is the good guy or who is the bad guy, the point is that it would of been more fun to have the specific missions prolonged into more full length campaigns rather than short 1 hour blurbs.

i'd suggest this to IW.
take US Side. make a 9 hour game for it. maybe toss in a few side missions to tie in the story or a few shooting sections to break up the monotony (control an AC-130, or be a Heli gunner protecting a convoy) but the perspective is primarly US. then do the same thing for TF-141.

i mean cmon. if you played through all of the Ranger parts for MW2, get the astronaught perspective and watching the nuke go off in the atmosphere... it would of been a straight 'zomg!' experience... then to play through the 141 side and realize that Price Did it! dramatic Twist!

That is what would make the game epic. to have the story more fleshed out.

'Arbitrary', (however badly they mangle the spelling), is the new magic adjective in these parts to describe basically anything since Yahtzee started using it.

No, No, No, No, No, NO!

1. Its FAR to cliche'

2. What does it matter? I don't know this CIA agent and i don't want to.

3. If IW did it for all characters, we'd have a lot less respect for Soap as he drives away from his Hello Kitty mansion.
