This makes this thread sound even more like Kill Bill. You know in that scene?

OT: I'd still kill the guy, maybe ask the parent to hide the kid. Afterall if the enemy wants their child to stay then they'd make better corpses than parents.

EDIT! I would kill his/her father teach them to hate me, and make him/her my Sith Apprentice. Cause that's how the darkside rolls.

I'd probably mumble some excuse that I was the pizza man and that I had lost my pizza on the way. In fact this can sort of relay back to the story of Josephs coat of many colours. Man has many sons, mans wife dies so man remarries. Man has another son who he names Joseph. Joseph gets all the attention in life so the boys sell him to slavers (Oh and he had a colourful coat hence the name). Joseph impresses his Egyptian royal masters and after a long series of events Joseph gains a position of Egyptian royalty. Crops die out but Joseph planned ahead and stored enough crops to carry the entire population for as long as the drought may last. Brothers come seeking the crop with their new brother Joseph whom they look after, once Joseph sees Joseph he stops refusing to give them crops and forgives them.

I've seen enough movies to know that if I engage my enemy and win, the kid'll grow up seek revenge and kill me.

the childs age is a bit of a useful factor in this scenario
i know .. if it was a baby then i'd cap the guy anyway

the fact that he has a child means nothing .. he has to face the consequences of his action

if the child is old enough to have been manipulated by his father then i'll kill it too, if not i'll take the child and make sure it gets a proper upraising under extreme supervision and when he or she are of mature age they will be informed of their father and their history
I agree with ^. I'd only kill the kid if he/she was over than 6, at that age the he'll have enough of a memory of his parent that he'd be scarred for life by my murdering his mother/father or pissed enough that he'd want revenge

Why not just explain to the kid that his old man/mama is the scum of the Earth then mutilate dear old dad/mom in a non-fatal way that assures that s/he will never harm another person again, maybe by chopping off his/her mitts or just the digits? S/He couldn't hold a gun again but s/he could hold his/her child. Death is too easy a way out, anyway.

That, or I could tell the kid that he gets to punish his parent for being naughty and save myself the trouble. Is there a modern youth who could resist taking such an opportunity?

Shoot the child first, that way he wouldnt see his father die, plus he cant grow up and be evil (I dont want a sequel).

The kids probably already messed up and evil so I guess I would have to kill him so that he doesn't kill me or a member of my family in the sequel.

I'd give them the chance to send the kid off with mom/dad/a guard/whoever. If they then choose to use the kid as a shield then I'll kill them with the kid in the room.

I'd immobilize the guy first, allowing him to watch as I slowly and painfully kill his child. Then I'd give him a few minutes to think about whose wrath he invoked with what he did.

And when he realizes he has lost everything, and asks for a merciful death, I'd take a couple shots on his knees, to make sure I hit an artery, and then I'd leave him to bleed out in pain while I walk away.

Imprisoning him for life in a cell over which I have complete control and where he had absolutely nothing, not even a bed, where he'd only get the daily food and water doses I'd give him would be better, but I'd need to have such a cell already built in the first place.

...Now I just need to find someone with a 12-year-old child willing to do something loathsome to me.
And then I shall unleash my revenge on him thoroughly.

Kill em both. My enemy deserves to die and the child has no future. It's just how it is. And, of course there haas to be room for a sequel.

I know what to do: kill them both using the same bullet/explosive.

Dying with their family is a fun way to go, even better if explosives are involved :p.

I would do it like in the first Kill Bill movie.
Ill kill him and tell the child that if he is seeking vengeance, when he is old enough.........Ill be waiting

Or I would kill his child in front of him and tell him that he is not gonna die because I want him to live with that image burned in his eyes, the image of his child getting killed in front of him.

Kill the Dad, tell the kid to that he may hate me if he wishes and has every right to try and avenge his father one day.

Then we wait for the Sequel.
Ah, a Kill Bill fan!
I have actually never seen that film before.

I'm pretty much with this guy on that one. I appear to lack a heart therefore I wouldn't really bother me.
