Gameboy Colour: Bugs Bunny in Crazy Castle 3
Gameboy Advance: Mech Wars

PS3: Uncharted
Wii: Mario Party 8
3DS: Street Fighter

The original Sacred. Damn thing was pretty much broken. Some classes ere simply useless, others so overpowered it was silly, like a stun trap with a shorter cooldown than duration. Graned, this was very close to its release, so most of these issues might have been patched away. I wouldn't know, couldn't be bothered to go back and look. And even if they were fixed, I don't think I would enjoy it all that much anyway, I just didn't find it to be a very good game.

It's [Dragon Age 2] also one of the only games i've ever played where the combat was so repetitive that I got a literal headache and had to take an aspirin after playing for more then an hour.
Reeeeeaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyy?

OT: Not totally sure. I don't buy a game unless I'm reasonably certain that it's good, so it's rare that I'll find a game I dislike. Maybe Gran Turismo 5, because it did absolutely everything in its power to actually stop you from racing. I never played it more than once or twice, because it was so irritating.

Come to think of it, I seem to remember some really painful ones, but I can't bring to mind what they were. Am I good at repressing bad memories or what? :p

The worst game I have ever played is this little gem called Darkened Skye for the Gamecube. My mom must have found it in a bin some where and she gave it to me for some holiday years ago.

The main character is voice by Princess Jasmine. She has this "wise cracking" gargoyle-thing side kick who splits my sides in the sense that I feel like I am going to die when he opens his stupid mouth. There is this ugly green woman thing who I think was based on Yoda (cringe...the wrongness of it all) who gives you a fetch quest in the first level where you have to trade a fruit cake..."the gift that keeps on giving!" And...the combat revolves around you collecting (and I kid you not) Skittles so that you can save the rainbow.

Yep...you fight with magic Skittles candies.

Besides that, the gameplay is bad, the characters are just...ugh...and the plot never seems to evolve. The only value I find in that game is showing it to people who play real games for a laugh.

This thread is a joke. None of you have ever played bad games. Anyone who lists a modern AAA game and isn't under the age of ten should be ashamed of themself, either for being a lying bastard using the thread as an opportunity to post hyperbole about games they just didn't like or for not having played very many games. If Black Ops is the worst game you have ever played, you must be so lacking in gaming experience that I'm not really sure why you're even bothering to post in a discussion like this.

i named black ops as one of my worst because its an honest opinion. no i have not played a lot of the bad games listed and would probably listed them if i had. i honestly thought black ops was a horrible horrible game. and i honestly thought ocarina of time was even worse. but i tend to listen to critics when they all say a game is bad like kane and lynch 2 and so i dont play them. im sure there are worse games out there i havent played. but this thread is about games that i have played.

Super Smash Bros Melee. Yeah, that's right fanboys, I said Smash Bros. Having never played it before, I was able to nearly tie my brother-in-law, who played the game to excess. A "fighting game" in which button-mashing is just as likely to result in victory as intelligent play is not worth my time.
You either got very lucky or your brother was not very good despite how long he played. The difference skill makes in that game is immense, with the exception of a couple of particularly luck-based item drops. It's not really a fighting game in any reasonable way either, which is precisely why button mashing is such a poor strategy in it - you can't just mash your way through combos because there are very, very few combos even in the game and remotely good players will just dodge away and fill your sorry corpse with holes from half a map away, assuming they don't just dodge around you and smack you in the ass, which is often more expedient.

And, as above, do you play games? There is no reasonable way that SSBM could be the worst game you've ever played. Even if all of your criticism were right on the money, it's not even on the damn list of bad games. Even if you don't like it, it's functional and pretty polished. There are a myriad of games that are released without even being finished, filled with bugs that make them truly unplayable (and not the sort of "truly unplayable" where the game just has a handful of obnoxious issues that I see in so many posts in this thread).

Once again, Escapists will take any thread as an invitation to complain about games they don't like.

That is what a bad game is like. Now your answer can be an actual bad game.

i dont really play bad games because its near impossible to find games for my ps3 where i live, so i have to wait until i visit LA, so i always buy my games carefully...
that being said, the game i liked the least may be 3D dot game heroes, maybe its cuz i was born after that generation and never played any retro zelda games?

To most peoples suprise i actually really REALLY didnt like dragon age. i hated the long texts that the game made you suffer through and how the longest talks arent even relevant in some cases. i really hated the fact that the combat system relied on cooldowns to govern your abilities making you extremely weak (unless your a rogue who doesnt need abilities in minor battles) then when i got to the end of the game on my first character a mage that cant do anything but die 100 times on the final boss which i cant get out of cuz only my auto save isnt corrupt WHY DO YOU HATE ME!!!
Edit- sorry im not a fan of commas apparently

Might I recommend Custer's Last Stand (NSFW, also not safe for your opinion of the human race), the CDi Zelda games, Superman 64, Busby 3D. For true hilarity, try to find a copy of Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing (you will probably cry).

People have largely forgotten what bad games are actually like.

The worst games are games that are bad AND crush your expectations.
But for that to happen, it's imperative that you actually have expectations that can be crushed in the first place.

Therefor, my pick consists of Spyro: Enter The Dragonfly and Shadow Hearts: From the New World.

The first one destroyed Insomniac's franchise (and my childhood) by having a lousy story, a bad camera, a horrible framerate, a tendency to cut things things that should not have been cut, tons of glitches, a main characters that controls like your worst nightmare and just being too damn short (though, since it sucked so much, that's probably a blessing).

The Second one was just the worst way to end a trilogy. There were no visual improvements at all (I actually found them looking worse), they hardly continued with the Covenant storyline, Yuri is gone, you only have 5 fusions (Covenant had 23 fusions, what the hell happened?!), the Stellar magic system was a downgrade from the Solomon magic system, the story was very lame comparing to the previous two installments, they had the worst and most useless vampire character of all and - last but not least - the game glitched whenever I used the Native Amercian character with the guns.

Also, where are Koudelka and Halley? At the end of the original Shadow Hearts, you see those characters on a ship, going to America. Now that we finally have a Shadow Hearts taking place in America, and they're nowhere to be found!
