I've tried to use homing cancels (an Arcana Heart concept) in Melty Blood, which has a similar button setup.

I was playing Left 4 Dead 2, and after playing Fallout, I kept trying to open all the suitcases and boxes scattered around

I tried playing Deus Ex:HR in stealth mode (as was implied.) Until I realised it's a cover based shooter with pretentions to stealth gameplay.

After Red Faction Guerilla ramming vehicles into buildings seems SO intuitive...

I dont like games with cover system, so when I end up playing them I tend to run for cover, crouch, and wonder why the character lowers his head too little to hide properly.

For a modern player enemies in old FPS games have a jarring resistance to head shots.

Aw man I got a warning. Oops

Anyway I thought of something else. I've been playing a lot of pc shooters lately like team fortress and killing floor. I Played halo the other day and wanted to turn the sensitivity up. Then I realized it was on 10. Lolwut

I had this problem real bad while playing left 4 dead and its sequel. I would always try to melee the enemies in other games, and when I would go back to the l4d series, I would forget that I could melee.

I instinctivley press Y in every shooter now, ever since playing Mass Effect 2's Adrenaline rush ability. Since I don't like to aim bending the stream of time to my will helps. Wish more shooters would use it.

Sometimes when I'm playing a fighting game and my health is low, I instinctively try to tab out to the inventory screen to heal :p

I switched back and forth between Assassin's Creed II and Demon's Souls and the running mechanics in each game are very different so I keep trying to hold R1 and X to run quickly and climb up walls in Demon's Souls (which, of course, led to death) and pressing O to sprint in Assassin's Creed II (Which, of course, did absolutely nothing).

I've tried to spot enemies (BFBC2) in CoD several times. 'WHY IS THERE A SCOREBOARD- Agh! Dead.'

In the Space Marine demo I thought I'd be invincible while doing the grab/brutal kills (like God of War), but no, that is definitely not the case.

After a day or so (play time) of Crysis 2 online, playing Black Ops resulted in some issues (such as trying to jump over a chest high wall, only to fall short and be mauled to death by Nazi zombies). Lacking armour and cloak also caused problems.

Also, instinctively spotting enemies with select after playing Bad Company 2 for too long.

When I play action games I often instinctively try to dodge like I'm playing Godhand. Also, when I play one of the ACE games I often try to do moves from ZOE2.

When I play a 3rd person (hell even a fps like Rainbox Six Vegas) I constantly try to switch between left and right handed use on my gun. Army of Two 40th day may not have been the greatest game but that was a perfect control setup.

The worst, is going from any Halo to any other Halo.
The button layout, the feel of the game, and how hard the enemies are, all takes about an hour to get used to =|
I get the same problem in any CoD going to any other CoD.
For the week or two of Blops MP that I played, I kept trying to dropshot on the run, and was rewarded with my dying body bouncing off the ground...
Its also really inconvenient to go from one Fire Emblem to another, and be disoriented by the different stat coefficients, and how units behave.

I don't think I've ever used a skill I have acquired in one game, in a completely different game... After playing Halo for a while though, going to CoD makes me realize how OP shields are, lol.

Going from a game like Forza 3 to Split/Second, or vice-versa is usually not a very good idea...
