Well, I'm black. I live in London. This place is a melting pot of the rest of the world, so interracial couples are commonplace here. I myself care if they're attractive, and that's it.

I don't see it around here much (According to Wikipedia, 96% of my town is white), but I certainly see nothing wrong with it.

....but anyway I think intellectually that interracial couples are a good idea if you want your child to be successful. Barrack Obama or Beyoncé Knowles anyone?
Personally I have no qualms with it. At the end of the day, love is love. You can't help who you fall for so you shouldn't even try.
Children from interracial couples are "fitter", in the Darwinian sense, then those from same race couples.
A greater degree of genetic variation is present in interracial couples, giving their children a larger set of genes to choose from. We all carry different variations of the same gene (called alleles) and if one allele is defective then obviously you wouldn't want that one.
These different alleles arise with differing frequency in different populations. If the defective allele was found more in Northern Europeans then the chance of a person having the same defective allele will be higher if their parents had Northern European heritage.
It should be important to note that not all variations of a gene are harmful. Some are beneficial and most do nothing. Even so, it's still a positive to have two different alleles of the same gene (called heterozygous). Current theory is that being heterozygous will grant you a more flexible response to the environmental influences you face every day.
Some of the greatest variation you can see is in the genes that control your immune system, and genes that state how your body deals with toxins. Heterozygotes are more prepared to deal with any situation with their larger arsenal of alleles.
So basically: Interracial couples produce children with a higher level of heterozygosity, thus can deal better with life.

It's disappointing how few interracial couples there are down here in the south. From a genetic standpoint, the further one goes outside of their own gene pool the better.
Eh, I have no problem with interracial couples. How else are we going to become a one race society? (Um, I mean that in the "love and care across all nations" manner and not the "Hitler" manner. I just realized that statement sounds a little off.)
And, I myself have a preference for asians, so if the fates (and my fetish) align, I might someday be married to a person of another race.

Well, the area I'm from is about 60% hispanic and about 35% white and 5% other. There are a lot of white people and hispanics dating. Occasionally some white and Asian people. There aren't a whole lot of black people in my area in general, but some of the few that I know do go out with people of other races.
So I don't find it at all weird.

Are "results" anything like "insults?" I do rather assume people are actually expressing themselves unless I have reason to believe otherwise. I know plenty of racist (xenophilic) guys in my city and it gets tiresome.D Bones said:

I personally think that the idea of different "races" when we all belong to humanity is a bit counter productive, although I know that every species has its subsets etc.
It's a thorny issue for a lot of scientists working in the area, as referring to people's race is a sensitive issue.
