Saginaw MI is not an open-minded society. But I am. I view it more along the lines of commitment. There are tons that come into my stores and for the most part I don't even notice anymore.

They're all people. And some people are good. But a lot aren't.

I don't trust criminals-and I don't think I should have to.

I don't trust gold-digging women-and for good reason.

I refuse to accept women having children their whole life so they don't have to work as a responsible lifestyle.

There is nothing wholesome about marrying for anything other than absolute love and commitment. And what I see in the couples I do despise it is clear that this is all they see in each-other.

Don't get me wrong. I apply these to ALL couples I see, no matter the ethnicity. People are people and they're all guilty of the above offenses.

Racial barriers mean nothing.

REAL LIFE EXAMPLES: There is one couple that comes into my stores all the time. She a blonde-knockout very reminiscent of Brandy from Joe Dirt, he a mild-mannered gentleman who manages a Sprint store in the mall. Their children are well-behaved and absolutely gorgeous. They are both very vibrant, loving people and I make sure they get the highest level courteousness when they're around.

And then there's the other couples. She barely legal, he in his thirties. She pays for his video game systems, games, etc all with a look of utter defeat. He breaks it and comes back days later demanding a cash refund and her nowhere to be found. I see this on the first through fifth of every month. And it sickens me. Men treating women like dirt. Women wanting the wrong thing out of a relationship.

Overall that's what it boils down to. Manipulation OR Commitment. It's like that no matter the race of a couple. If you're of different ethnicity and you love each-other for who you are, AWESOME! I'll pick out of the floral arrangement for your wedding for all I care about how much melanin your skin has. If you're just in it for endowments or money, I'll be the rudest fucker you ever sold your used video games to.

(omg I am such a nerd)

I just got back from a vacation in Washington D.C. As you know the city is a major tourist hub and has tons of people from around the world year long visiting. Something I noticed (also back home) is that when I saw a couple that wasn't of the same race (the guy was Asian and the girl Caucasian) I found it odd.

Now, I don' mind interracial couples, but I've grown up in a society where people typically date or marry those of the same race.

Is this statement true where you're from or not? Also, leave an opinion on why you think that that is true.
This statement is true in Mexico as well, but I am descendant of a interracial couple, which were descendants of another interracial couples.

I am descendant of a Mexican father and an Australian mother. And I also have Greenland's Jew, German, English, French, Norwegian, Finnish, etc, etc, blood. And I am proud of it.
Most of my grand(etc) parents were sailors, so they traveled around the world, and the story speaks for itself.

Not true at all where I am. I see a heck of a lot of mixed race couples. Hell even I have a thing for Asian girls and I'm white...so yeah.

It's the way forward! Ideally, I think it'd be best for my offspring and the gene pool if I mated with a member of another race.
Also, I'd like to see my mother's reaction.

In all honesty, inter racial relationships weird me out more than homosexual ones. I have no objection to it, and I've seen/been friends with/whatever plenty of both, but seeing them together just makes me feel like they're betraying something. And it's not that I don't find races other than the one I belong to attractive, my first kiss was a black girl. It really has nothing to do with the sex.

I guess it's just cultural.

Also - to the people/person saying Halle Berry is some exemplar of black sexiness - wow. She is one of the whitest looking black persons I've seen.

Love is love, unless it's illegal.
That I don´t get. If its illegal, it stops beeing love? How is that?
By illegal I refer to love directed to things that should not be such as people too young to understand the emotion and non-living objects that obviously cannot reciprocate the feelings. Of course there are various levels of affection which can be given to things, I mean, you love your family in a way, your significant other in a way and your love for video games in another. My point mostly refers to the romantic and intimate side of the emotion.

Pedophilia and necrophilia are loves too.

My parents are interracial! I see no problem. My mom was an Islander and my dad was Native American.
Sorry for my ignorance but what is an Islander?

Wow, race matters to you... that is kinda sad.

I hope one day you stop seeing color, and start seeing people.

But as you sound now, you only see stereotypes.

Sorry for you, hope it all works out better for you in the future.
Race doesn't matter to me. I'm saying that I almost never see interracial couples where I live, and so it is uncommon for me.

EDIT: I don't care about race, I just almost never see interracial couples. OK?
it's the same argument the KKK use.

I'm mixed-race myself - I wonder, am I dating interracially as long as I'm dating someone who isn't half-Chinese, quarter-English, eighth-Scottish/German? x3

In any case, I live in Toronto, so interracial couples aren't hard to find. On the other hand, homogeneous couples aren't either.

I don't mind interracial couples at all. They're pretty rare where I'm living, since this town I'm in is as white as rice on a paper plate in the middle of a snowstorm.

Racism is based on visible features, so of course he would be called black. As long as he looks black, racists will have a problem with him. Racism is the reason him being (half) black matters. Also have you been to the south? Racism is still fairly prevalent down there.
Yep. There is no "blackness chromosome." Race is a subjective thing. /quote]

Actually, there are blackness chromosomes. Of course there are. They dictate how much melanin is produced in the skin.
No, because plenty of light-skinned undeniably racially black people are lighter in tint than people who are undeniably of other races. Race is far more than just one attribute. It's a suite of physical features.
So? All those physical features (phenotypes) that identify blacks as a seperate race are governed by chromosomes (genotypes) as well. My point still stands: there are "black chromosomes".
