Interracial Couples

I live in upstate NY, wouldn't call it odd at all here. I know at least a handful of interracial couples; it's actually kinda hard to think of them because I don't really think of them as interracial couples, just couples. My girlfriend is multiracial, and race was never a thing when we met. Unless you count daydreaming "damn, that white top really complements her skin..."

Norms & demographics change, of course. Today it's much less common in some areas than others, and let's say that I think my GF's parents exhibited more than a little bit of courage to start a relationship at the point in American history that they did.

Racism is based on visible features, so of course he would be called black. As long as he looks black, racists will have a problem with him. Racism is the reason him being (half) black matters. Also have you been to the south? Racism is still fairly prevalent down there.
Yep. There is no "blackness chromosome." Race is a subjective thing. Look at it the other way around: If you put a little pack of kool-aid in two liters of water, you have kool-aid, not water. The racists have to notice what that says about the relative values of whiteness and blackness.

I have to admit that I too find it odd. Which is weird since I'm the male part of an interracial couple.

No you don't, you have slightly coloured or murky water. Simile fail.

Its not a racial issue, different people are attracted to different things. Some are attracted to those of a different colour or culture, while others keep to their own.

I do not have a problem with. I live in London so you see a lot of mixed couples so i think its just become part of the norm. I have dated a few girls from different countries and i am attracted to the difference in culture they have to my own. It can add a lot to a relationship but it does have negative sides depending where they are from based on religion or whether they live far away.
As someone who lives in England, maybe you can help me with something, for some reason people (myself included) find accents attractive, if i was to move to say London, where I'M the one with an accent would it help me score?

Actually, there are blackness chromosomes. Of course there are. They dictate how much melanin is produced in the skin.

I don't know if you would find the London accent attractive. Maybe Essex, but I wouldn't think so. Then again, I'm from t'up north, so I'm intrinsically prejudiced against everything southern. I'd say you should pick a Northern town (like Newcastle or Liverpool) but be cautious. Places like Teeside and Hull don't have very many minorities and have a tendency towards prejudices.

Can not hurt to try, although you will find people from all places of the globe living or holidaying there. My current girlfriend is American and she is crazy for my accent. And there was me thinking i sounded common. lol
Off to England so I can be the one with an accent? Who's coming with me, also do they have good pizza and is Lee Ho Fook's an actual place and if so are there werewolves there?

Well, where I live the majority are white so that's just the way things work out. It's only odd because of it's frequency.

I saw plenty of mixing when I lived in California. In Washington though... I don't notice at all. Come to think of it, I don't think I ever have seen a couple in all the years i've lived up here.

I guess I really don't get out much at all.

Love is love, unless it's illegal.
That I don´t get. If its illegal, it stops beeing love? How is that?

As for the couples, we hardly get them here ever. Im living in relativly small town, and 99% of the population are white.
I do however have preferences according to skin colour.
And no, that is not racist, it is aesthetic.
I find deep black and pale white to be the most attractive for me.

It is hard to say something like that without beeing called a nazi on the internet, I know, but I tried to explain ;-)
There is no point in beeing forced to be attracted to every type of skin colour due to political correctness.

I never really noticed until a little while ago, but I grew up seeing interracial couples all the time.
