Yeah. The game got a 5/5, and the PS3 fanboys were still ranting about "360 bias" and the "negative tone" of the review.Singing Gremlin said:EVERY Killzone review is getting more hate from PS3 owners than anyone else. One place gave it a 10/10 and still had PS3 owners bitching. Of course there were the cretinous xbox fanboys there too, but this is hilarious.
Indeed.oliveira8 said:And a big "lol" to the fanboy rant in the psx magazine.
I sort of agree, but by EDGE's already defined standards, polish isn't enough. They weigh innovation with polish, and if one is missing it won't get a 10. This game didn't get a 10 because it was all polish no innovation, Mirror's Edge didn't get a 10 because it was all innovation no polish.Indigo_Dingo said:You're once again confusing refined and generic. It has managed to polish all elements to the point where it is the pinnacle of its domain - hence, yes, it does deserve a 10/10DeusFps said:I can't believe it when people ***** about good review scores.
"imagination... barely exists."
So its another generic fps. So does it deserve a 10/10? No.
Sorry for niggling here, but you are watching ZP, so aren't you listening to a review? or are you just watching, which is not one of the options you listed. /Frank_Sinatra_ said:THAT is why I don't listen to, or read reviews.

Sooo... uhrm... if a game hasnt got any innovation but has hissing gas leaks, you would give it a 10/10?Indigo_Dingo said:You're not quite understanding this point, are you? Okay, an example. While playing through the demo, I noticed that the gas cyclinders required more than one shot to blow up. So I looked at it a bit harder. As I got closer, I heard a hissing noise, and saw a shimmer around the hole, then I saw the cylinder flip. The thing doesn't automatically explode, it actually releases a gas that can be used to propel itself around the room is you shoot in the right place. This is a miniscule aspect that hardly anyone is likely to notice, yet it has been given that sort of focus.I3uster said:hmmm... why does this remind me of halo fanboys?Indigo_Dingo said:You're once again confusing refined and generic. What? Fanboyism? Because I like the game I'm a fucking fanboy--?Aardvark said:If you still can't figure it out, I'll break out the sock puppets and large word cards. Maybe help you sound out each syllable. How about some furry mascots to get this one through that barrier of fanboyism you seem to be armoured in?
Well, I would rate most of the games i play with 7/10. They are very great games. So what makes Resistance better/worse than, lets say, Halo.Avida said:It will not be affecting me because after playing the demo i can confidently say: That is not a 7/10 game

Wait, screw this, I'm out. Not checking here again. Your smug, condescending, but mostly pathetic attitude has drained any will I had concerning having a pleasant discussion about this. See ya.
Oh! Halo 3 has gas cylinders just like that!Indigo_Dingo said:You're not quite understanding this point, are you? Okay, an example. It sure does not look like one, but it's not all about how the game looks and how cool it is. It sure does look cool, and awesome etc. but it doesn't bring anything new to the FPS's. Everything in there has been done before, the game just does it again, but in a different scenery whit different graphics. In order for something to get a 9 or 10, it needs to bring something innovative. Killzone 2 does not do that, it's just a fps, that's it.Avida said:It will not be affecting me because after playing the demo i can confidently say: That is not a 7/10 game
who really watches ZP for a review?thiosk said:I found killzone 1 to be a snooze fest that highlighted the weakness inherent in console analog stick controls in an fps.
As such, I have not understood the excitement behind kz2. I hope to high heaven, however, the ps3 folks get something deep to enjoy here. But reviews of 7 - 8 are what I consider par for the course, these days.

I dunno, it's sorta like IGN's problem but in reverse. Instead of giving everything a 9 they give everything a 7. The writers tend to ***** about things like not innovating, which doesn't interest me because after 20 years of gaming nothing really strikes me as innovative. Not complaining about it, still love games, just a personal thing.MrGFunk said:Do you respect their scores though?L.B. Jeffries said:It's Edge Magazine. I may check out Destructoid
I'll just go and divide by zero so we can all find out.I3uster said:Stop feeding him or he will explode xD
Hmmm, how would this thread look like if resistance was on the 360 and halo was on the ps3...
I don't know - it seems to me that ZP doesn't so much review games as he does make nitpick them for great entertainment value.thiosk said:Sorry for niggling here, but you are watching ZP, so aren't you listening to a review? or are you just watching, which is not one of the options you listed. /Frank_Sinatra_ said:THAT is why I don't listen to, or read reviews.
