Often 'depression' and 'misanthropy' is simply you pulling a Texas Sharpshooter. You're saying "they don't like me because I hate them" or "they don't like me because I'm depressed" when instead you're depressed/misanthropic because they don't like you or you don't allow yourself to be liked.
Hold on, you make that post, and I'm the wise one? I don't get it.
Anyway, a very good point, here. I find that there's a little truth to the whole "treat others as you want to be treated" thing. Yes, some people will use it to walk all over you, but if you try to be just a little more friendly, that'll do wonders in many cases.
That, and find people you do get along with. Maybe people who share similar interests? They exist, trust me. Or just look for someone who's a little less easy to hate: speaking from experience, for every obnoxious idiot in the world, there are five incredibly nice people.
Basically, you don't hate all people. That's frankly impossible. You hate the people around you. I can't say if you have a legitimate reason, but the answer is clearly finding people you like better. Easier than you might think, and even if that fails, it does get better. Not referring to stages of school in particular, just in general. I know it's been true for me.
Whatever you choose to do, good luck. Again, my offer stands, if you need to rant.
Oh, and if it counts, you're not the only one who wants me dead (I assume I'm included when you say "everyone"). A bunch of people do, including most of the family, if what I'm told is anything to go by. I guess I'm pretty annoying?
