Erm, is there a reason why this all matters? Are you planning on trying to hook up with this person? If it's the slight flirting that's bugging you, don't encourage it. (like you were, :cough:) Why not just hang out for a bit, play some and get to know the person. Have fun playing the game. It just boggles my mind sometimes how serious these things can get.

If she was fun and flirty there is yet another possibility:

6. She's female and she's drunk.

I would not, of course, know this from experience. I personally have never gotten liquored up and then hopped online much to my own amusement, if no one else's.

*sips glass of wine in a perfectly civilized manner*

And it's the fact that within a couple days that she's started saying things like that that have me thinking I'm being punked. I dunno I guess it either way and it seems like im being paranoid
Exactly how different is it from how he/she was talking before?
Well I posted a couple of examples in my OP which pretty much cover it, but he/she just seems to be more flirty than she was earlier, which is a bit weird cos its the internet. Unless she gets some kinda kick outta stuff like this, which in this case its pretty cool.
*twitch* God I hate boys. I am a gamer chick who gets a kick out of gaming with my boyfriend/girlfriend/general friend friends. It's a good time, and if you think you can share that good time with a potential significant other, then why the fuck NOT go for it? Girls are just like guys, we're just less stupid. So when we get a chance with someone who we share a lot in common with, we think is cue at least on some level, and we like to talk to, we tend to go for it (or at least I do) and not dither around wondering if it might be an actual dude or not.

I say at least try to go for it a little bit, and IF she's a dude, then I'm sorry for egging you on. If not, then FIE FIE FOR SHAME. Meany. >.<
No need to be hostile or hate me, I totally agree and usually do the same, was just wondering out loud, that and I was just wondering if it was possible that it was a guy.
Sorry, I don't actually hate you, I just had a moment. I think it's really really stupid to be worrying so much about it. But this is coming from a girl who doesn't appreciate being called a guy on the internet or in a gaming situation. Like I really hate it. I dunno, maybe I'm not secure in my femininity or something. But being called a guy simply because I enjoy things that have for some reason been labeled a "guy activity" really grinds my gears.

It's nothing personal, honestly. I just hate that sort of thing. >.>

Everyone online is a guy unless proven otherwise. If you really care you can use ventrilo or teamspeak to be sure.
Not fair something like 40% of gamers actually girls.
Not quite. Let's use the Escapist as an example, a gaming site. In the most recent male/female thread it was about 90/10.
40% is a little too generous.

On topic, I'd say it's a guy. It probably is.
And just for arguments sake, lets say it is a girl. So?
I doubt you live near her, so unless you're into cyber, I'd stick with girls you know.

AHHHH what girls playing video games?! *runs to secret club house and posts NO GIRLS ALLOWED on the door*
lol but no seriously I know/ have met a number of girls who game and they are all pretty cool, most of the time they don't want to be gawked at awkwardly, the only thing that knida throws up a warning light in my book is the flirtatiousness I would suggest a few things if your really that curious
1. get on a mic and chat if they sound like a girl, chances are she is a she. If they are using a voice altering software they are really bound and determined to punk you or be a pervert.
2. If they say they don't have a mic see if they have a console with a live account and an avatar system, funnily enough i haven't met a single person on xbox live who's avatar wasn't gender representative.
3. If the person in question has a console account get them on a microphone on the console, it is harder to alter a voice through a console, because of the consoles nature.

Now of course these tips are not full proof, person could get mom/ sister/ girlfriend to sit in etc. but if they are going to such great lengths to be deceptive I wouldn't waste my time or energy, just role with it. Treat the person just like any other MMO player.

It's a dude. Although to be fair, I've met and talked to an extraordinary amount of real girls on PS Home, so you can never tell for sure.

Oh, sorry that was me and I'm a guy. Joking but in all seriousness ask him/her a question that they'd only know if they were male or female or something.

I tend not to care much about the gender of people I meet on the internet. The odds I'd ever meet them in real life are so small as to be inconsequential, and the odds I have anything to do with the secret goings on of their pants are about in the neighborhood of a 9-spot Keno win. Consequently, your gender is moot - consider it guaranteed equality from me.

i don't know, i know no respectful man that spells "honey","hunni" or "hunny" in ANY situation, though WoW is, like most games this one being the zenith of the theory, man-dominated if not for people who have lost hope in ever getting anything more then a carbon-dioxide filled scoff from a woman, showing only her upper jaw.(No offense, one man's opinion, who cares if i can get it backed up)

If it is a guy, go along with it, get more excited, get so gay, this man will think twice about ever doing this. There's nothing wrong with talking gay if it's not into a man's home-grown microphone.

What's wrong with it being a guy? The guys I know are far more sensual than any woman could ever hope to be. Except Max, (s)he's pretty sensual too.
