In any case, exactly what right do christians have to be angry about not everyone loving them all of a sudden. Christians had a very brief period of persecution, followed by centuries of a complete stranglehold on western civilization. YOU were the persecutors. And you didnt make mean jokes or scathing diatribes. You used swords and fire. And Halberds.

So it is ok for you to be angry because people make fun of Christians, and it is ok for you to go as far to claim that a Christian holocaust is coming and people are taking a Nazi attitude to Christians. But as soon as a person makes a relevant argument as to why people do not like Christians or why they think its fair for Christians to be mocked they have anger issues....masakoz said:
Like I said before, either it all should be ok or none of it should. Every religion is different but, at the core all major religions Christianity, Judiasm, Islam, Buddihism, the list goes on. All preach equality of all people, care for your neighbor, help others in need. The reason there is conflict is because of the extremests who believe their way is the only way. this discussion is going way to fast. whenever i read to the last page the last page moves into the next page. anyway back to the point, of course it is ok to make fun of the majority, you guys are in absolutely no danger. and besides all of the jokes are about the super religious ones who even Christians make fun of and i doubt any atheist will care if you make fun of him or her. the only ones who go to far are the assholes and they are on both sides and most everybody hates them so stop with the oversensitive stuff and just relax.
you should be able to make fun of anyone, it should be everyone or no-one, its like the usage of the word ****** or "Niggah", its a double racism word, its a anti-black word, but since its been used by blacks and made almost illigeal for white people to use it, it is restriction of language based on race, and therefore racism against white pepole if they cant use the word.
but to sum it up its only okay if it's equalety, no exeptions.
(just to say it, i got beat up becouse i tried to defend total freedom of speech, no matter what subject, i truly belive that everyone should be alowed to do what they want as a statement, as long as it dosnt physicly damage people/property, a great example of this is in my belowed Norway where a comedian have burned a bible and a american flag and have compared jews and immigrants to dirty worms, as a joke of course, and the show didnt got canselled and the shows where shown in prime time , and in re-runs. In short freedom at speech at it's finest)

"Everyone is fair game" doesn't tell the whole story, though. Humor is awesome because it's egalitarian, yes. But great humor doesn't just heap scorn on everyone equally. It's iconoclastic. If you want to speak truth to everyone, you have to devote most of your time to speaking truth to power -- because it's that power that's generating most of the lies in the first place.Silver said:

Christians are like white people. We white people were assholes living high on the hog for a long time. Now, we deserve a little ribbing. and the KKK white supremacists need to be gotten rid of.

Except that most white people have done a very good job of making it very clear that they disown the KKK. Something that chirstians have not done the equivalent of yet.
