Dude, we really need more fanboys to be like you Halo Fans and we can differentiate between the two it's just....too many fanboys are always ruining it for the lulz or whatever issues they have.Apackof12Ninjas said:Can you guys differentiate between Halo Fans and fanboys? Some of us are not as stupid to be part of the latter and would appreciate that =)
Thanks
The story was totally ripped off, the ending was the biggest bullshit win in the history of bullshit wins, the Na'vi were so dam good that there was no development, the humans were so laughably evil that I was giggling through the whole movie, the Na'vi girl acted like a twelve year old having a hissy fit and in some ways the colonel was right. Jake turned hid back on his planet and his entire race because he got some alien tail.Rutawitz said:avatar didnt suck. besides, ever seen aliens? that ship the marines flew in looks exactly like a pelican from halo. maybe you suckQuickDEMOL1SHER said:Ummmmm......... The Hornet was what Cameron copied from Halo and that was never in Aliens.
Also Avatar sucked, so shut up James.
Who doesn't want that?Fwee said:Maybe Cameron just wanted Halo fans to shut up in general?
My my. Such thin skins some people have. I'll do my best to avoid starting some sort of idiotically misguided flame war, but no promises.alinos said:also terminator 2 is easily the best in the terminator serieschewbacca1010 said:Not to defend fanboys of any kind (much less the Halo ones) but who gives a fuck what James Cameron thinks? His films are ham-handed and often bland and he stopped being relevant the second he released the second Terminator.
he also made true lies and then he went off after titanic and done his documentry stuff which is his personal choice not a your movies suck type thing
but im gonna guess your a huge michael Bay fan and he hasnt been relevant this decade in any form sure he had transformers which are basically giant pieces of action CRAP
I agree for the most part, but the two are not always mutually exclusive.miracleofsound said:What's worse than fanboys?
Dogmatic haters.
These two sum it up really well for me.quiet_samurai said:OT: Realistically though, neither Avatar or Halo are really original to begin with.

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to get at here. So it's top-of-the-line but not pleasing to the eye? Or something?Casual Shinji said:I don't think they suck, but I don't think they're fantastic either.willard3 said:Show us how to do something better, then. Why are they "mediocre?"Casual Shinji said:It just shows how mediocre the visual design for both Halo and Avatar is.
(sorry, your post came across strongly as "halo and avatar suck kthxbye")
The visual design in Avatar didn't feel too dissimilar than that of the commen JRPG.
Technically it was superb, but visually.......meh.
You're quite welcome good sir.madcap2112 said:Already seen the video, thanks for the pretentiousness.Doxcology said:You should watch MovieBob's review on Avatar, he mentions "Dances with Wolves" and I think you'd quite enjoy it due to the fact that noticing that Dances with Wolves has the same basic story as Avatar does not make you observant [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/escape-to-the-movies/1333-Avatar].madcap2112 said:Not to mention that the basic idea of Avatar is basically the same as Pocahantas or Dances With Wolves. It's an old story in a shiny new 3D wrapper. But I don't blame him for criticizing the fanboys; Halo is not the Alpha and Omega of entertainment.
*AHEM anyways, James Cameron shouldn't have to justify himself to a bunch of idiotic Halo fanboys.

SINCE WHEN?!
Why thank you, good sir. It's nice to find someone who'll give me some feedback on my writing, not to mention someone with similar music tastes.Doxcology said:On another note I just checked out your blog "Music, Pure and Easy", the article you wrote about Brendan Bensons album "My Old, Familiar Friend" was simply excellent. Very well written article.
Cheers.
What do you mean? The story is still horribly ripped off.Rutawitz said:sounds like a personal problemQuickDEMOL1SHER said:The story was totally ripped off, the ending was the biggest bullshit win in the history of bullshit wins, the Na'vi were so dam good that there was no development, the humans were so laughably evil that I was giggling through the whole movie, the Na'vi girl acted like a twelve year old having a hissy fit and in some ways the colonel was right. I will admit that the CGI and 3D was amazing and that while I may have overstated that it sucked, it wasn't THAT good.
P.S. I love aliens and while I agree that the Pelican is completely ripped off, the Hornet belongs to Halo. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Avatar Hornet, but it was copied.
Yeah, I'm not saying he ripped it off. I think I heard he said it himself that it's sort of an interpretation of it. Really, I guess I'm saying that it further proves how ignorant the Halo fanboys are about it all.Wiezzen said:I wouldn't say he ripped of Pocahantas or Dances With Wolves, though. The same story plot has been used many many times. I'd say he had a pretty original story, even if the basic plot wasn't.madcap2112 said:Not to mention that the basic idea of Avatar is basically the same as Pocahantas or Dances With Wolves.
