Sounds like the guy can't take any fucking critism.

Shit, there stories of people wanting to commit suicide because they can't live on Pandora, and this guy is focusing on 1 minor group of idiots. (Fanboys in general, not just Halo)

Whats interesting is that in the SAME interview if you see the full thing, he's talking about how great it was to make the game and how great the game was going to be..

Has he actually PLAYED the Avatar game?

Maybe instead of talking smack about Bungie and Halo, he should have gone to THEM to ask them to make a decent game for his movie.

I couldn't have said it any better myself. Cameron has had the idea of Avatar since 1996.
That and the fact that Avatar isn't anything remotely like Halo.
i believe they are mostly referring to the aircraft.
which halo of course stole from aliens so yeah.
Which aircraft would those be? I don't recall any of the Drop ships from ALiens appearing in the Halo franchise... but I did see a whole bunch of Halo Hornets in Avatar..

The helicopters and flying gunships look almost exactly similar, but its really just generic futuristic machinery. Its not ripping off Halo, the vehicles just look like Halo because they're both standard looking.

edit- after reading the article, apparently James Cameron invented the style of futuristic vehicle that is now standard. There is really no argument that Halo fan boys have to complain about James Cameron.
For my part I've always thought that Halo was ripping off/ inspired by Aliens and Terminator which are, as you allude to, James Cameron films.

aliens or terminator

So really, anyone who says "Lol, look James Cameron liek totally stole the design of his vehicles from halo" honestly needs a history lesson. If anyone should be crying foul about stealing designs, it's Cameron. But on the whole, he's happy to have just been part of what became a futuristic standard.

But to have fans of that futuristic standard call him out for stealing his own ideas from their derivatives of his ideas, that's just hilarious

so the pelican doesn't look even remotely like the drop ship from aliens.

Call me crazy but Halo copied a lot from Aliens, and that's a James Cameron film...so shut the hell up fanboys. He help make your favorite game.

I'm surprised how everyone here quickly dismisses and insults the fanboys when there is one question: Who the hell said that Halo fans were criticizing Avatar? I sure have never seen or read anything like that.

Sounds completely made up.

I had never even drawn that connection, to me the only immediate thing Halo and Avatar have in common is that they are both of the science fiction genre and both feauture alien races. Really though I feel kind of annoyed that I as a Halo fan myself must constantly be grouped together with the people who make empty complaints like this.
Really I wouldn't even have that much of a problem with movies taking aspects of Halo as inspriation especially not James Cameron because he did say it himself, a lot of the marine designs (I wouldn't say story aspects but certainly designs) featured in the Halo series can be traced back to some of Cameron's earlier work such as Aliens so really any connection is more like a coincidence.
Whatever, the point is I love Halo and I love Avatar but I don't see a common connection and even if I did I wouldn't really complain about it.

James Cameron recently said in an interview that halo fanboys need to stop trashing his latest movie Avatar. He says that they keep complaining about Avatar being too much like Halo and he that he copied the series.

I couldn't have said it any better myself. Cameron has had the idea of Avatar since 1996.
im no halo fanboy but i said it looked a LOT like halo. i called it during the movie

This. Very much so. Since when have the Halo Fanboys bitched about Avatar? I've heard everyone else ***** about how unoriginal and cliché it is, but not the Halo kids. Have they torn themselves away from XBL for long enough to say anything is that isn't *grunt*?

A very good point.

Although, could someone in detail explain why halo fans might see the comparision because i myself don't see it.

OH, aside from the Hornets and Vultures, the aerial army on avatar looks exactly the same as the army i usually field on halo wars :p
