I have never heard of Ferra Fawcet and i hated Michael Jackson.
This day may be remembered by a few, but it will not live in infamy. Days like december 7th 1941 and 9/11 will live in infamy.
2 famous people died. Why are their deaths so much more important than other peoples?
It may not be a day of infamy to you and I, yet to many others it is. To those obsessed with pop culture, this is their Pearl Harbor or 9/11.

And future comments: please consider how others would feel in a situation, you won't come off as such a cynical person.
Seriously?
Did you just compare Michael Jackson's untimely demise to 9/11?!?!?!?!!?

How does one even make the connection in between over 3,000 innocent civilians being murdered and an old, washed-up perverted pop star's death?

Please, explain your reasoning.

Today pop culture weeps. Ferrah Fawcet loses her fight with cancer, and Michael Jackson dies of cardiac arrest.
It wasn't just cancer.
IT WAS ASS CANCER!
but i seem to be the only one who has some sort of grief over the passing of Michael Jackson.
i mean sure he might of dangled a baby out of a window for a second, but the man made one of the best songs ever.
that deserves something other than jokes.

The media is showing it's racist side again! I bet they wouldn't give this story this much attention if he was black!

Ferrah Fawcet is my idol and role model.

She's had to deal with cancer, numerous operations and trips to Germany, the paparazzi saying she "wanted to die", her son being imprisoned on drug charges, and a constant pain.

She has had to deal with all of these and not once did she ever lose faith or give up on anything. She died a far better person than you or I will ever be.

Somehow I think I'm gonna be ok.
Your in denial, come on lets hug the pain away
Get your hands off me you dirty ape.

That's the sort of thing I'm not supposed to have to worry about now that Jackson is gone.

Alot of people go through cancer, her story is not unique in any way and the only reason it comes accross as relevant is because she was a Charlie's Angel and movie actress, unimportant people go through worse yet their stories are never told, so don't lecture me about how wonderful any celebrity is.

What I mean is that there are people unlike us who spend all of their time watching pop culture programs who will view this day as a major tragedy.

The key words in my statement were: "To those obsessed with pop culture".

If you're so obsessed with pop culture that you compare the death of one man to some of the most devastating events in history, then you obviously have some serious issues.

What makes her story unique is that she had almost every culture magazine saying she wanted to die when she didn't. And she had to stand up to the UCLA Medical Branch for their unlawful selling of her medical records to the paparazzi and well as the paparazzi herself, WHILE she barely had the energy to walk.

Ed Mcmahan died yesterday too. I fear tomorrow we will turn on the television and find that Sir Paul McCartney and Morgan Freeman will have keeled over.

How many more of these threads are we going to have - there's an updated newsroom story at this time - enough...
Seriously this shit is getting old. Keep it in the newsroom threads instead of spamming the boards with this bullshit.

What I found more amazing was that California passed some budget bills. That fucking surprised the shit out of me. They actually did their job.

Oh, and I guess the deaths of Farah Fawcett and Michael Jackson are tragedies. Thriller was extraordinary. And Charlie's Angels..was..well..it was. RIP.
