Heh, kudos I guess. My only problem is I hope you've learnt a lesson.

One day, some kid might walk out in front of you and you will run that kid down, making a scene worthy of Encyclopedia Dramatica's Offended page. Then I doubt you'll be so smug.

I'm impressed you got away with it, but I hate the idea that road accidents occur because people are breaking the law. It's bad enough they happen anyway.

I did 20km over in a 60km zone while I was still on my provisional license, you know what I did? I took the fine of $250, paid it and also lost 3 out of 4 demerit points. I also learnt my lesson and haven't copped a fine since.
Good man.

The police in my area are pretty unforgiving, they will pull you over for anything and search you for no reason. I just got my car last week so not had any tickets or warnings yet, I'm trying to keep it that way because I really dont fancy paying a fine or getting banned.

"hey guys, i was being stupid and dangerous but the police let me off because i cried like a girls and manipulated his better nature, and that makes me the bigger man...please be my friends now."

Well, I dont drive yet, but so long as he was actually driving safely, I don't see the problem really. It's lucky he avoided the sprreding ticket, but I would only be pissed off if he was driving recklessly. And I'm sure he wasn't drinking the 'hard lemonade'. If he was, IU take all this back lol.

Seriously, though. When I read this I thought "What?? Who cares about speeding in a 30 zone?" Then, of course, I remembered that I'm the majority here, I drive of the left side of the road, have real outlets, metric system, sunshine, lollipops and rainbows, everything that's wonderful is what I feel...

Okay, that went on a bit too long. Ima stop now.

Driving safely while speeding? not possible.

Speed limits are not chosen randomly from a hat they are calculated based on a balance between the fastest and safest possible for that road.

Doubling your speed quadruples the stopping distance and theres no way he could stop in time of anything if hes 30 over.

he didn't say he was speeding in a 30 zone he said he was 30 over the limit, huge difference.

it is possible. Maybe not if the road you are driving on is crowded, but if not, it is very possible.

I gotta go with the majority here. While I couldn't care less about you doing it, the fact your bragging about crying like a little girl just to get away with doing something VERY illegal doesn't make you any more impressive. I admit, I'm a pansy when it comes to driving, mainly due to my paranoia. I always try go the speed limit. That doesn't mean I haven't gotten a ticket before, but never due to stupid things like speed.

A pro sees the cop trying to turn or coming after him, kills the lights, speeds up, swings into a residential neighborhood and finds himself a spot in someones driveway, preferably next to a big truck, and waits.

Pro tip: do not attempt at 3am with undisturbed fresh fallen snow.

says the person not even driving yet.

you never know whats around the next bend and if your speeding you have no time to react

plus just because you do make it home you weren't driving safely, making it with no indecent is not the definition of safely.

I dont get why everybody jumps on him for "acting like a girl". What would be better in a situation like that? Pull out a gun and shoot the officer-manly enough? Perhaps a little car chase with the police? Saying that you are drunk/on drugs and didnt see the signs?
Sure-the best thing would have been to accept the ticket and pay the bill like a reaaal man, but this is just too boring and normal to create a thread.
Also I dont get the posters that yell "OMG-your reckless driving threatens lives" without knowing anything about the circumstances. Mayabe it happend around midnight on a long and empty road in the middle of nowhere? Dont get me wrong-I DONT say that speeding is good and OK-but not everybody that pushes the gas pedal a little more than allowed does that at noon in the middle of a schoolyard

Jesus fucking christ, have you no shame? Blubbering like an infant to get out of a speeding ticket... holy Hell man, grow a pair. And don't suggest that you got out of a ticket like a Pro when you stoop to those levels.

Generally cops around here are good cunts and if you just act like a normal human being, admit you did wrong and accept the ticket they'll treat you okay. If you just take it on the chin like that and make it easy for them a lot of the time they'll let you off with a warning. Things not to do:

- Argue. Don't complain that the guy in front of you was doing the same speed, don't act like a victim and claim you were unfairly singled out and don't start suggesting that the officer go out and deal with real crime. The cop doesn't care and he won't appreciate it.
- Give excuses. Cops have heard them all before. They won't care that you didn't notice the speed limit sign, they don't care if you're late for work. They may care if it's a real emergency of course and they may care if you say "sory mate but I'm really drunk and I wanted to get home before the cops got me".
- Act surly or dismissive. Yeah you're taking the punishment but the cop's not going to think you've learned your lesson, hence less likely to give you a warning.
- Cry like an infant. You may get out of a speeding ticket but you'll have a hard time getting back your self respect.

Hey, if you can put on a crying act legit enough to fool an officer, well, more power to you.
Just don't kill anyone, ok?

I once drove back from a concert with 4 people crammed on the back seat which is very illegal (mainly because of seatbelts) and was pulled over. I explained we were on our way back from a concert and he just let us on our way claiming "Yeah, well it's rock n'roll ain't it!". I was very happy.
