Congratulations, you sold your dignity for a speeding ticket fine.

Though on reflection that is a pretty good deal and I would take it if offered.

I'm always at least 10 km/h over the limit, but the few times I've been pulled over I've been let go. I think it's because I'm usually on my way home from work, at 4 AM, and there is no one else on the roads. That I'm probably the one that served the officer's food earlier in the night.

The title of this thread led me to 3 thoughts

The normal one, which is basiclyw hat you did

The pro, as in prostitute, which was kidna disturbing like "a 100$ ticket, how much is that in blowjobs"

and ofc last but not least the pro as in pro gamer, like outrunning the police due to your 1337 GTA style driving skills, or using some sort of hack to turn invisible.

Calm down there guys. Jeez, when you get together you're like a wild pack of disapproving mothers, sternly warning everybody and everything in your path.

Watch yourself.

"So guys, I got pulled over, but then instead of accepting my ticket I decided to cry, like a ***** mind you, and the cop thought I was so pathetic that he didn't give me the ticket! Am I awesome or what?!"

That's what I got out of the story.

Ok, first of all, everyone who is calling OP an asshole for speeding seriously need to shut up. Even if he was going 30 over, controlling a car is not difficult, if you know what the hell you are doing when you are driving speeding poses no more of a threat to anyone than just driving the speed limit does. It all has to do with the drivers ability to control the vehicle, and if OP was able to safely control his vehicle at that speed, more power to him.
I call bullshit.

Experienced or inexperienced, controlling your car is not easy. I've fishtailed my partners Ford Fairmont AU on a busy wet road, had I have panicked I wouldn't have been able to control it. And it wasn't a small fishtail, I was in the other guys lane. It's not second nature, you don't just acquire these things over time. There is no excuse to endanger others, not even in an emergency at the speed he was going over.

EDIT: I wasn't even speeding...

... Famous last words.

Not understanding the relation between speed and kinetic energy can be fatal.

Also, I'm going to agree with this guy. If anything, it's not pro. It's pathetic.

That's actually pretty irresponsible. How do you go 30 over without noticing? And with alcohol in the back seat? And pretending to cry to get yourself out of a ticket? Third graders pretend to cry when the teachers gets onto them, not a grown man.

I did 20km over in a 60km zone while I was still on my provisional license, you know what I did? I took the fine of $250, paid it and also lost 3 out of 4 demerit points. I also learnt my lesson and haven't copped a fine since.
Hmmm, you wouldn't be from QLD?

OT: You shouldn't boast about not getting a ticket from a cop you rightfully deserve because of your sob story. I would have to laugh if the officer did actually read the escapist though.

Oh, just that I'm still on my provisional (P2 actually) in QLD, and I am always watching out for radar traps because I only have 4 points.

I've been pulled over 4 times now with no tickets, not even a written warning. Thing is I never act my way out of it. All you have to do is be polite, be honest, and say you're sorry. There is always the chance that you get pulled over by an ass or a guy who's had a bad day, but acting won't help you either in that situation.

I have been off my P's for 3 years now, when I did that I was only on my P's for a year and a half and P Plates weren't mandatory. I also was on my phone at the time (it was in my lap), so I was lucky it was a speed camera and not a cop that got me. I wasn't paying attention to my speed and didn't think to look for speed cameras. It was also in an area where one lone policeman hides on his bike to catch people speed, his name is Nigel Berry but we all like to call him The Lonely Grape. I also don't like talking on the phone while driving anymore, one close encounter is enough.

...by crying? Quick thinking there Batman. That is quite amusing.

I don't really speed in town, but on motorways virtually every fucker is speeding. Slow lane is for the guys doing 60-70, middle is for 80-90 and the fast lane is for 90-100. Going 30mph over the speed limit on a motorway is no big deal, however, if you were doing 50+ past a school or 60+ through city streets then that is pretty stupid. But then most people have donr stupid things at one time or another.

Back in the easy days to get the P's lol. I was lucky not to do the 100 hour log book alone. Just have to dodge speed tickets and other law breaking stunts for 7 months, then opens (yay). And I have talked on my phone once, but that was in the middle of a traffic jam.

To the original poster: What. A. Loser.

Crying your way out of a ticket isn't "pro".
Going to agree with that. Real pros don't get pulled over in the first place.
