Seriously, I'm sick of these stories. Why do people care about a fucking elephant more than their own species?

its not a simple thing like accidently cutting someone off in traffic or taking the last wii at best buy or something, its killing an already endangered species because someone bet her too do it, I dont care if its legal or whatever, its an ass thing to do no matter what the situation

This woman could've just been fucking MATURE and ignored some guy making a bet, but of course, as with humanity throughout the ages, she decided to prove him wrong.

For which an elephant bled out for 12 hours, 12 hours in which the woman could've walked over and just stabbed it, arrowed it again or asked the guy who made the bet to put it out of it's misery with a rifle... none of these things happened.

It's not the fact that it died, it's that she let it take so long to die that people are hating.

Anyway, I think being clawed to death in a rather quick half hour or so is preferable to 12 hours of waiting for a stick with some metal on it to kill me.

Most of the stuff I found was elephants at 450K (african) and a growth rate of 4.1% in some countries. Hardly endangered i;d say.

In packs they've been known to take one down, though I'm not sure how frequently they go after them.

Anyway, something to keep in mind is that we don't know how long it took for the elephant to bleed out. It could have been anywhere from the time it fell to the full 12 hours it was left there. 500 yards isn't a whole lot for an animal to run, so I'm thinking the arrow hit somewhere fairly vital.

I have never understood why everyone gets so worked up over the death of an elephant. I don't think i would shoot one with a bow as i would much prefer a BIG gun that makes the thing explode into little pieces. It all seems that people have gone Dumbo-centric and whilst that little dumb with elephant sure was loveable, i would put an arrow in his eye (and let him bleed out if that was my wish), eat him and then go back for his useless mother.

On a more serious note i don't think it matters at all; no laws were broken, no person was hurt, and it seemed like it was a good shot. If i had the chance to do something as crazy as that i would at least try to do it...I would just hope i didn't get beaten by a girl.

Also these elephants are overpopulated, so her killing it helps the rest of the species. Plus they probably utilized the corpse of the beast after it had died.

So excuse me for not thinking this woman is a horrible entity of evil.

Wait, when the hell were elephants over-populated? And here was me thinking that the thousands being slaughtered for their tusks were putting a strain on one of the most gentle and intelligent species to grace this earth. Because, you know all those fenced in parks and armed rangers patrolling them are just for the look of the thing.
